I've been playing off and on for the past few weeks, and while it's a good game, it's just too similar to CoD4. If you really enjoy that type of gameplay though, download it and check it out.

being a former Marine, the pacific-island hopping campaign is a theater of historical warfare i've always wanted to see done properly in video-game form.

call of duty 4 was great, but having been in iraq, some of the levels were almost a bit too familiar and i ended up having a large number of iraq-related dreams, a few of which were more like nightmares. plus in multiplayer, i could never get used to playing against american forces and having to shoot dudes who are wearing the same uniform i wore. kinda silly i guess.

anyhow, if they've taken the frame of cod4 and plastered it onto a new era/campaign, that's cool with me. plus this one's got vehicles, attack dogs, and flamethrowers.

there's also some videos available for download showing multiplayer and co-op footage, and it looks like they've jacked the realism (i.e. blood, flying limbs) up a good bit.

My only complaint so far. Sometimes certain online players do not fall like they should and I die before them. Even at point blank with me emptying my clip or using a combat knife.

I think that has to do with crappy lag on the servers. It'd happen in CoD4 to me all the time when I played it.

While I think this demo is really fun, I completely suck at it because I stopped playing CoD4 a LONG time ago. 7 months ago, I think.

my first game of the demo i brought the fukken house down with 15 kills on 3 deaths. since then, i've done so so. sold my cod4 to a friend a while back, so i'm kinda rusty too.

still gonna pick this one up though, looking forward to playing it on veteran's day, which i'll have off work.
