Anyone else seen it? I really didn't like it, bored the hell out of me....although that Russian chick is amazing...beautiful...but still, the movie was a real let down after the brilliance that was Casino Royale...

Not seen it myself yet but was very impressed with CR and Daniel Craig as Bond in general. So is it really that boring?

DOH!
I was hoping not to hear that. I've been bugging MZ for a proper review, but he hasn't come through yet.

Oops btw I should've posted this in "media" - sorry....(mods?)
Yeah as I say, it's a bit boring...it's basically action sequence - journey to action sequence - action sequence - journey to action sequence...over and over until the end - the action sequences are OK but nothing amazing and half of it's done in that usual "let's shake the camera around so you only get a sense of what's going on rather than actually seeing it" type of filming - whereas Casino Royale was mainly shot wide in the action sequences...
I want my two hours back, that's for sure....

Sounds like what happened with Brosnan; a great start and then a flounder due to poor scripts and direction.

ive heard the word boring coming up a hell of lot in association with this surprisingly, maybe people are kinda bored of the whole "british guy porks women whilst shooting people with foreign or unusual accents"?

Jeez I hate that "let's shake the camera around so you only get a sense of what's going on rather than actually seeing it" type of filming, leaves me with a headache :(

nah I love bond movies - I just live spy movies as well, and as bond is meant to be a spy, you'd expect some espionage...but no!

Yeah and that's the professional terminology too...see, I'm knowledgable! :)

Doesn't sound like the Bond formula that's the prob in QOS but the curse of modern film and tv in that it mostly comes down to a matter of form over content

I'll move this to Media ... and sorry bassman, I forgot to write up my thoughts last night, will try to get my thoughts pimped up in the next 24 hours.
As for "boring", I think the middle third is a bit sedate compared to the finale, and especially compared to the stonking opening which had me gasping and making "ooh" and "ahh" faces as people got bashed about and the Aston took a right pounding.
Full thought-age soon, I promise! :)
*edit*
I said 24 hours, I made it 1 hour, hehe ... I posted my thoughts on QoS (along with four other recent viewings) in a new thread right here in Media Discussion.

As for porking women ... he gets his end away once in QoS, and you barely see anything ... the main involvement with a woman is far from sexual, and indeed such a relationship would be wholly inappropriate (you'll understand when you see the flick) ... and no, she doesn't have a cock, lulzorz...I guarantee one of you thought that before I made a joke about it, I betcha.
Anyone who could be bored during the ample action in QoS must be been watching the wrong movie, or have a really odd taste in movies - especially if they saw Casino Royale - which was far longer and had less action.
Some people are morons I guess ... :elol:
