esp. when it is a mountain lion. stories like this make me shake my head in disbelief. a guy and a teenage girl broke into the property of a man who keeps large cats (he has a permit for it) because they wanted to see some of the animals. they went into an enclosure where a 3 year mountain lion was housed and (surprise, surprise) the lion attacked the girl. a neighbor came to her rescue.

it always shocks me how clueless some folks are about big cats. mountain lions are one of the most beautiful animals in the world but they are also, without a doubt, one of the most dangerous animals you will ever come across.

a video story about this incident with an interview of the neighbor who rescued the girl:

Morales said when he got there the cougar had the girl by the head.

Cougars? Well they really can't help it can they Aces? Its sort of ingrained into them ya know? The whole circle of life and all that ya know. Besides, cougars are gener. . . . oh wait. . .you weren't talking about that at all were you? How silly of me. I mean really. . I am just stupid. I was responding toyour question like you were asking why cougars attack. . and really. . all this time you just wanted to know why the cougar had her by the head. ;) Well to answer your question. . .everyone knows that the head is the tastiest bit of a complete idiot. A little light snack, hardly filling at all.:D

It also fits into nature's programming of eliminating the weak, in the case of humans, the stupid which conveniently offer themselves for removal.

This is very true. Unfortunately it doesn't happen nearly often enough.

I want to know why people feel the need to keep dangerous animals in their home. You hear of people being bitten by their pet rattle snake or cobra and almost dying or this story of the Mountain Lion...it is just crazy to me!

you have a point here for sure. i don't think people ought to be able to keep large or dangerous animals as pets. big cats especially because they aren't pets at all, no matter if you raised them from cubs. they are still quite dangerous and quite capable of doing serious damage.

people shouldn't try to tame what's meant to be wild anyway.
