It's a beginning though...

It's surely only a matter of time until something is produced, that has some sort of cognitive reason and even self awareness? The moment that happens the world will change for ever...

Possibly, but I'm still waiting on my commercially available flying car and space vacations to other planets, and while certainly an eventual possibility, we have way more immediate technological issues to comes to terms with.

It's just amazing how the seemingly inherent flaws of man are so rarely addressed by looking at ourselves when it comes to improving our lot in life and that of future generations, and instead we always think we're going to create something that makes life so much better somehow and then we turn it into a way to complicate or cheapen ourselves.
