Zombie Haiku by Dylan Thomas
Do not go gentle
into that zombie plagued night.
And take the shotgun.

Zombie Haiku by Silvia Plath
From head to black shoe,
daddy, I had to eat you
because I’m starving.

Zombie Haiku by Robert Frost
Two lobes in the skull.
I eat the bloodier one –
not much difference.

Zombie Haiku by e.e. cummings
if anyone lived
in this wretched how town (they)
would be soon eaten.

Zombie Haiku by Emily Dickinson
I heard a fly buzz
when I became a zombie.
That was one loud bug.

Zombie Haiku by Walt Whitman
Every skin atom
form’d from this soil, this air,
tastes like chicken meat.

Zombie Haiku by William Shakespeare
To bite through the skull
or beat it against the wall?
That is the question.

Zombie Haiku by Edgar Allen Poe
Beside of the sea
I killed my Annabel Lee
because zombies do that.

Zombie Haiku by Theodore Roethke
I knew a woman,
piled up once I ate her,
lovely in her bones.

Excellent stuff! 'specially liked Dickinson and Poe (my favorite poets).
Here's one of my own:
Dead and feeling fine
Zombie life is for me always
Eating flesh is fun.

Frost is one of my favorite poets but his was kind of MEH. I liked the ones you mentioned and the Dylan Thomas one a lot.

Well done on adding your own by the way we should have a contest ;)

Sure, I have too, as have many of us.

I was just curious about the content of the somewhat cryptic response to what appeared to be a friendly reminder from my friend Clang who as far as I know is the originator of the entire zombie haiku concept. No harm, no foul. :)

No offence taken at all. My current avatar being a dead cat thing. . I assumed he was talking about that. As far as being the originator of Zombie Hauiku. . nah. . I doubt it man. It would be cool and all. . but I doubt it. Besides. . as I remember it , you suggested that I start the thread in the first place there Yo. . so. . that would give you equal rights to the concept man!!:D

I found the site by doing a Google search and found it entertaining. It looks like the book they published was released in July of 08 and details the decaying process of a zombie from his perspective. The commercial for the book was featured on Attack of the show and the commercial was a featured video on You Tube.

The oldest blog entry they made on the "official site" appears to be October 30, 2007.

Clang's first Zombie Haiku Post is timestamped August 27, 2007, a little over two months before these dudes made their first appearance.

Funny thing, I recall that there was some immediate outside interest from THE DEAD REPORT in featuring some of the Haiku's from Clang's thread in their next webisode program, I think in September of 2007.

Honestly, before I read Clang's tounge-in-cheek zombie haiku, I had never thought of this myself (and I'm Japanese and a zombie freak), or heard of such a thing. I venture to guess that most folks here have never thought of it either. Clang is very humble in not taking the credit for kicking off this phenomenon, but the more I think about it, it seems increasingly plausible that they totally ripped off his concept.

Yeah makes sense. I was posting dates to try and sort it out to see how it would stack up, kuddos to you for doing the rest of the digging. I never got back to it as I was tied up at work off and on. (that crazy S&M lovin secretary)

I think perhaps a letter is in order, and since they made money off it or attempted to perhaps legal action ;)
