I wonder if St. Peter will say to him "Welcome.....to Fantasy Island" :)

or "Come on in, and enjoy your heavenly suite, lined with soft Corinthian leather".

No! FUCK NO!!! NO! Seriously. Me and my Star Trek friend have been talking about him all day. And now he's dead!?!?!? We were saying that whoever says Heath Ledger pulled off the best villain ever, must have missed that excellent little gem called Star Trek II.

R.I.P. Khan.

sad news. RIP ricardo.

i agree with ned - khan is the greatest badguy ever -

"to the last I grapple with thee; from Hell's heart I stab at thee; for hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee."

then again the wrath of khan is basically a retelling of moby dick with shatner as the whale but that is for an entirely different thread.

Very sad indeed. I know he had been in poor health for a while. I always loved that guy. RIP Ricardo....

It's weird, as i just thought about Ricardo the other day myself (saw a pic of someone who liked like Mr. Montelban when he was younger).

But you know what? He lived a long, successful life, was married to the same woman for over 60 years and had a good number of kids.

Good for him. I just wish we'd seen him in a few more roles these last years, but it's not as though he wasn't active.

Although I am not a Trekkie, I respect the mans body of work.

Wasn't much of a Trek fan either, so he'll always be Armano from the Apes films or Mr Roark.

Was watching a special on MGM's golden years last night and Ricardo was in several interviews. Later I heard he'd died - so sad to hear. He was an extremely talented man and will be missed. A class act all the way. :(

Bad news, indeed. He looked very physically fit back in the day. Even in Star Trek II he still had it.

the thing i've always thought was amazing about his performance in the wrath of khan was the shape he was in. christ, the man was like 61 or 62 and ripped like a 30 year old. incredible.

I know, I dropped my jaw when I heard that years ago:stunned::stunned:
Great Villain, and he should have been the one to kill off Kirk, not some
stupid death like in Generations :rant::rant::rant:
