I doubt he can go back to his old ways. I hope he does, but I think it will probably be another Ghosts of Mars.

John Carpenter is in many ways my idol... Especially the way he lives his life these days! By his own words, pretty much all he does is sit around and play the latest video games. Now, that's what I call retirement...

I hope so too. I miss their music.

I love Carpenters music. He influenced my project, Phantasma (if anyone's interested, PM me). However, if he directs a great flick with The Ward, I won't be too upset if the doesn't do the score himself; I think it's worth the sacrifice.

But wouldn't it be nice to have both?:D

Glad JC is back in the saddle. One of my favorite directors far & away. Hope there's more to the plot than mentioned in the article as it sounds a little...eh...like a lot of other movies? But hopefully in Carpenter's hands maybe even mediocre material could rise above....

hey, i'd lost faith in carpenter too until i saw cigarette burns. i think that's easily the best thing he's done in eons. i will see this new flick of his as i've seen everyone of his films for the last 30 years or so.

the Fog was one of my all-time fave JC films, if his new flick is even half as scary as that we should be in for a treat

GREAT movie. Had me scared for years as a kid whenever it was foggy outside. Unfortunately it got remade...

It sounds cool, hopefully it will be the 'old carpenter' and not the 'new one' returning to film. Most of his remakes blow chunks. :(
