I caught this film on BBC2 last night & have to say i havent felt that moved by a film in a long,long time :stunned: has anybody else here seen it? its a true story about the genocide in rwanda back in '94 & how the UN just sat back & let it happen,its shocking,disturbing & the hutu militia are just plain frightening!Its a good & eye opening film

Well, they were stuck in a no-win situation. You can either let it happen and be vilified, or you can interfere in their country, and everyone in the world hates you for it. They probably just figured that since they'll get stuck anyway, no need to risk any of their own people in the process.

But guarding those people for weeks,then just abandoning them to be slaughtered was plain wrong,the UN has proved itself a complete chicken shit outfit several times in the past though,such as in the balkans when they just sat back & watched that massacre at Srebrenica...
