View Full Version : Crysis on 360 and PS3

Well, maybe not Crysis itself, but the engine anyway. CryEngine3 for consoles was shown off at the Game Developers Conference today , and it looks almost as good as it's PC counterpart. I'm impressed at the amount of detail (lighting, soft body physics, particles) they were able to keep intact, check it out:

Booooo it'll be well watered down for le consoles!PC is where its at ;)
Crysis is old news anyway even though it is an awesome game!Operation flashpoint 2 will be the daddio this year hopefully!

Usually engines can usually be scaled (within reason) to fit the hardware of whatever platform its running on. I'm guessing the new CryEngine, when seen on a PC, will be somewhat improved over CryEngine 2, just that the new one also allows it to be run on console at slightly lower detail settings.

In fact, the Xbox 360 footage looks just as good as Crysis does on the highest DX9 settings, as far as I can see.
