""Terry Marcel, writer and director of legendary cult sword and sorcery movie 'Hawk the Slayer' is returning in 2009 to continue the adventures of Hawk, with a follow up entitled Hawk the Hunter. This official blog, endorsed by Terry will document the full journey of the movie's production with behind the scenes information, photos and interviews. For Hawk fans worldwide who've waited for years and who never thought it would happen, we can tell you it really is happening... Hawk is back!"

Jingafilms.com reported that the director would be Terry Marcel and the producer Andrew Growcock, reporting that Tom Hardy is to play Hawk"

This according to several sources including the film's production company Jinga Films & JoBlo.com.

I've never seen Hawk the Slayer, but I've wanted to for a while and I understand the sense of anticipation mixed with dread when a well-loved movie from your childhood is sequelized. I must say though, this is a bitchin' poster and even has me psyched:

(not sure if that's the one you posted above, as your image has been blocked)

I agree the teaser poster is cool, but this is kind of mind-boggling to me.

What's next? Flash Gordon II: The Flight of the Leather Daddies...

Yep, it is. Hawk is one of my go-to movie's. I just love that friggin' thing. The best way I've been able to describe it is "This is what would happen if you turned a bunch of 12 year old D&D players loose in the woods in 1982 with a camera, actors & crew & told them 'go make a movie'. And it's got Jack Palance" :D

Which if you're a geek like me, love B-movies/ bad sword & sorcery movies & 80's cheese, then yeah, you need to see this. (Patiently awaits the arrival of Clanglee to thread...)

Ok. . . I can't help it. . . .:hyper::hyper::hyper:. . .that's fucking sweet!!! Hawk was one of my favorite movies back in the day. It was right up there with Sword and the Sorcerer!! A sequel could be quite good. . or complete shit. I'll see it either way.:D

ain't this just a bizzle, how i missed this thread first time around is beyond me. hawk the slayer is a cheesy sword and sorcery movie and i love it. possibly the only better cheesy sword and sorcery movie out there is "the sword and the sorcerer", which if you haven't seen you must drop what you are doing and find a copy immediately. you'll thank me.

bring on the hawk sequel, says i.

I agree that the rough execution and earnest performances made Hawk a fun film to watch. In fact, everytime John Terry would show up in any other movie, I'd go "There's Hawk The Slayer.'"
So why hasn't he popped up again as Christian in this final season of Lost?
