So far the only known platform is the Wii.
Not a port, not a remake like Resident Evil on the Gamecube but a reimagining with the same characters but in this century (the first Silent Hill on the PSone was retconned into the eighties by Silent Hill 3). This one delves into Harry Masons dilemna this time he's not a tourist but a amnesic resident and the otherworld is his nightmare while the originals was Alessa's rusty metal, skinned dogs and puppet nurses, this one has a ice theme though alot of it is a mystery.
You can no longer fight the creatures instead you have to run from them hide, secure yourself somewhere and get them off your trail, apparently everywhere is accessible this time around. I'd like to see where they take that.

I'm all for more survival horror, and given it's so far removed from the origional I won't mind the new iPhone bullshit in the game.
I kinda like the ice change but can't help but think this may have been added after the fan reaction to winters cancellation.

Nobody besides N Space and a few publishers knew about Winter until two months ago so the icey nightmare world is probably a coincidence.

Also coming out on Wii are Cursed Mountain and something called Calling as seen here:

Reminds me of Silent Hill 4 The Room.

Looks interesting. I wonder how many WII users are craving a Silent Hill title. Hopefully, the flashlight gameplay won't be too gimmicky.

The idea of no fighting (at least, that's what I'm hearing) is interesting. More exploring.

Oh yeah - being able to open EVERY door - just means, less doors overall. Which is good. I remember showing my father the work we did on Homecoming and he was like, "this is a game where all you find are locked doors" and I agreed.

I am not a fan of the stealth/run&hide games... Mostly because they're too stressful for me. The thing I loved about silent hill used to be the crappy battlesystem so that I could finish the game with ease. (I was always scared of running out of health drinks, even though I often used to have about 12 of them at the last boss...)

The reason I haven't finished Forbidden Siren in 4 years is because it gives me too much anxiety.

And why do they always have to do remakes? Seriously. Leave the classics alone, man... :(

It is also for the PS2 and the PSP.

(So this is what happened to Russel Shoemaker and Kizzy.)

This looks like it may be of interest to horror fans, it's being made for Wii and will be available for PS2 and the PSP. The major difference is the lack of any combat, and that the path, situations and appearences of monsters and humans are determined by a pysch test.

I'm still waiting for a reson to buy a wii. The only thing that interests me much is the house of the dead/RE rail shooters.Perhaps this will change that.
