I thought it was HR Giger, but now I'm having second thoughts on that presumption. Can somebody tell me who drew this? I'd like to see more of this artist's work.

No thats not Giger, he is much more technical and thats not really his style. With giger its usually sexual organs buried in the painting usually not so subtly.

Not sure who did this though, sorry.

On first glance this painting seems possibly an homage to William Blake's The Great Red Dragon and the Woman Clothed in the Sun (wings become stretched face). http://www.artchive.com/artchive/B/blake/blake_great_red_dragon.jpg.html

The style is more like Jim Warren.
But he has so much artwork
you would need the title of the piece to
look it up

And Giger is usually pen and ink
with extremely intricate line details.
Look at his work closely and you
will see how amazing Giger is.

Well, if something doesn't pop up soon, I can find out by cross-posting it, probably at a Call of Cthulhu fanboard I sometimes frequent. I've seen the art in various image searches I've done over the last few years, always related to Lovecraftian topics.

Thanks dude. Yeah, I found the picture years ago; I slightly recall it being on a Lovecraft website.

Okay, I posted the request, hopefully someone who knows will take notice and share the info. It's just killing me I don't know the answer, myself

Could be Henning Ludvigsen Mike. He's done some work for CoC.

Ha ha...."work for CoC". I bet he doesn't want that getting around

Good call. Maybe some searches through his portfolios online or pairing his name to the right phrase will bring something up on google.

This is pretty solid work:

UPDATE:

Ahhh, it's Gilles Francescano! A quick google image search under his name popped up the image multiple times.

One of his many blogs (http://artetfact.blogspot.com/).

Awesome! Thanks dude! I'm contemplating adding this to my right arm sleeve-in-progress which includes work from Michael Whalen.

Whoever gave planning permission to build a well in the middle of a historic standing stone circle deserves to be fired for desecration of a historic side, to say nothing of the tentacled beasts the decision seems to have invoked.

Cool! If you do add it to your sleeve, you should send Gilles Francescano a pic. I know if I was an artist, I'd love to see that sort of recognition :)
