I like the massive hoards of zombies, but hate how some of the "hype" combat is working.

Yeah, I have to get the Dawn of the Dead soundtrack so I can listen to it while blowing off zombie's heads. Kinda sucks it got delayed till August.

As of now it is only being released on the 360. It's possible it will be released for the PC in the future but from what I've heard & read it's not being released on the PS3 at all. The release date is 8/22/06 which is months earlier then the PS3 launch. Even after launch I don't believe it will be ported to the PS3.

I just wish this had an in-game co-op option. I like multiplayer, free ranging and FPS games that allow you to actually go through the game experience the way it was designed for a Single Player.

Either way, I will get this game!!!

Everytime I see another picture or another video of that game I want it more. Now, if I actually had the cash then I'd get my ass a 360 and that friggin' game. But alas, that's not on the cards at the moment - hey, perhaps I should make a website to get 5 million hits so someone gives me a 360? :D

When/if I get it, I too will totally have the Dawn soundtrack playing in the background, I'm sure I'd start sh*tting myself quite quickly with the sheer volume of zombies coming at you, meanwhile you're holding a stick or a guitar (cool idea, talk about a killer riff). It's that sort of feeling of being surrounded by a swarm of zombies that sh*ts me up good and proper. I certainly wouldn't wanna be that person hanging from the ... whatever that blue/red/white thing is.

I like how in that shot with the woman hanging on for dear life the zombies at the bottom are clamoring and raising their arms up waiting for her to fall. I always pictured that whenever I read parts of the Bodysnatchers in the fiction section. Those short stories always seemed to have scenes where someone was dangling right above a large mass of zombies.

Damn it! I wish I had some cash and I'd dash out tomorrow and buy an Xbox and pre-order Dead Rising, that game looks so much fun. Although I don't know what it'll have 'story' wise, would it only be killing ALL the zombies ALL the time, or is there kind of missions or things you have to do? I'd have thought so, killing zombies is fun, but you can't just have that.

Still...garden shearing some zombie's in half is a fun way to 'waste' your life. :D

The game is based around your character waiting around in the mall for 3 days (game time) for a rescue helicopter. What you do in those 72 hours is up to you. There are missions, people to rescue (or kill, if you prefer:elol:) and bosses. According to the developers it is meant to be played multiple times for different play-throughs and endings.

Ooooh, now that sounds like a fun idea. 3 days game time - now does that mean 72 hours actual game play time? Damn...

So would it mean you could technically get the mall successfully locked off and then just run around the mall lovin' your possessions for 3 days? If so, cool. :D I like freedom in games, as well as interactivity - that and freedom makes a great damn game, usually anyway. Zombies added into that mix is a surefire shot at greatness.

I think MZ has a great idea with the website. Maybe we should expand on that and have it so that people can donate with Pay Pal to a 360 fund for all of us here that can't afford it... 5 million people donating $1 dollar is a lot of 360s for us here at Homepage.

i think it would be good, if i made one , and funnily enough i start a games design course next term (screw media studies!) ,but anyhoo id make a large sandbox gta area, with controls like a crossbetween oblivion and ghosthunter.
id make it so anywhere between 3 to 30 people travel in a group and you had to secrue your self somwere before you log off or you could get killed while your character is offline.

that said it would be a MMO game so you could end up with jerks that would through "noobs" (and trust me kids if someone calls you a noob online there a loser in real life that cant get any ass:lol: ) but they would feed you to zombies to escape or get mardy and throw a wobbler and run of with supplies or something.


but wouldnt that make it more realistic, or at least like moodys autumn?....

Very realistic. They actually give the player a chance to use the bathroom. I mean no zombie-killing master worth his pair should have to forgo using the bathroom for a minute or two in between zombie killing.

Someone is working on a zombie apocalypse MMORPG, I read about it on UndeadGames a month or two back.

Anyone here familiar with Unreal ? If we could improve the AI in Land of the Dead to the point where it didn't suck up an arseload of CPU time, I could see getting a lot more enemies in play at once, and that'd rock :) (as it is, though, if you're in multiplayer, a 2 ghz box can handle about a hundred.. as long as you're not doing the serving)

well got some more info in a gaming mag about this game supposedly 500 zombies on screen without any hiccups. also the weapons are somewhere in the in the high hundreds. also the gam eisnt 72 hours real time, but accelerated in game clock. the game also opens up more as you play and get further into the game and can eventually go ouside. another cool feature i read is the zombies increase in numbers at night opposed to the day.
and youll be able to hit any store to pick up what ever in tha mall .

Think of it this way hellsing. You're getting your 360 in August, the same month Dead Rising comes out. So you have one awesome game right there. Not to mention all the games you missed out on these past 8 or so months, plus the wealth of Xbox Live Arcade games, plus demos and game videos. You're gonna be overwhelmed with the ammount of content, which is a good thing.:D
