Skateboarders unite!

This thread is for skateboarders (I know I'm not the only one here). Please talk about your thoughts and stuff on the "sport". To start, my favorite skater is Jeremy Klein; the first trick I ever learned was tic-tacking (does that count?); I dabble in miniramp from time to time, but mostly skate the little railslide I built; and right now I'm riding a deck from my local shop. All right, it's your turn!

Don't ride now but I did in the eighties, when I was in my yoof. Was never into learning tricks but used to fashion small kickers from bricks, wood, tin sheeting, etc, and clear objects I put in front of them, including my friends. Was more of a BMX-er though.

Still got a couple of boards gathering dust in my mother's attic and I do wear some skater apparel: Vans, Quiksilver, Globe, Santa Cruz, Vonzipper, among others.

I'm a bit commercial when it comes to my favourite skaters so you'll have to forgive me. My best male skater is Rodney Mullen and best female skater is Vanessa Torres.
