wow.com, formerly wow insider has cited leaks from blizzcon have confirmed that cataclysm is the next expanion to world of warcraft and the horde are getting goblins and alliance are getting worgen.
Personally im 50/50. theres evidence but still i dont trust "secret leaks" but if so im rolling a worgen rogue on day one.
Plus im wondering who the next big bad is after arthas, my guess the alliance and horde finally beat him, and mid celebration a literal cataclysm occurs with a phased and destroyed azeroth as the new world for characters that beat icecrown citadel. Possibly due to sargeras return, who knows?

I am becoming increasingly bored with WoW. Granted. . I have never been hardcore into the game. I still pay my monthly, but I only play a few times a month now. Since my uncle passed away it just hasn't had the same pull for me. I dunno. . . .

But the new race news is pretty exciting. Kinda unfair to the Horde I'd say though. And strange too. They get some kinda pussy goblins and the Alliance gets vicious evil looking werewolves? Unfair. Aren't the Ali fighting off the worgen in many many places throughout the worlds? I guess the Horde are too in Silverpine. Meh

well a nightelf brought them to azeroth from some other plain with something called the scythe of elune so i guess theres some connection, specially if they are the people form gilneas, but still i think its odd, at least the goblins kind of make sense when you think back to warcraft 3.

So im watching the blizzcon stream, via shady means, and theyve just shown the cataclysm trailer, heres what i can rmemeber off the top of my head.

graphical revamp.
the whole world is shattered by an eruption form the maelstrom, all the elements are out of wack, the barrens is a lava field, desolace is a lush verdant botanical greenhouse.
flying mounts in the main world again.
netherwing, father to the black dragonflight has returned.
the lost islands in the south seas are added, with new enemies waging war on the homes of the goblins who seek refuge in the refugees of a destroyed ogrimmar in a new horde.
we are shown the gates of gilneas shattering, a fable 2 bowerstone looking victorian town laden in fog shows the townspeople transforming into wolf-men under the full moon whilst trying to defend against an attack form the frosaken, the night elves arrive to assist them and welcome them into the alliance once again.
level cap up to 85.
guild leveling system (no idea what they mean, could eba few things)
new profession: archeology.
new race/class blends, troll druid, human hunter, dwarf mage ect.
both the horde and alliance's strongest warriors are in northrend fighting the lich king, leaving the rest of the world weak and broken, fighting for what limited resources remain.
new class pathway: way of the titans - no idea what this is, hero class base don uldaur?, a subclass to add to your main, i really dont know.
-heroic level deadmines and shadowfang keep, my favourite instances redone to work with the new lore.

Theres more i cant remember, this was a packed trailer for like a minute and a half. However im stoked already, after the exotic outlands the wrath of the lich king expansion was kind of lame, generic sauron rip-off in his own mordor that you go and fight, more of the same. hopefully this change of focus and art direction will revitalize the game, god knows it could have gone the way of other mmo's and just released another new continent to fight shit on. I'm thinking this si all phased, that our the next time you log onto your 20 tauren in the crossroads after the install he or she will get buried in lava.

the press conference for wow just finished at blizzcon, aside form another boring pvp island off the coast the rest sounds like a breath of fresh air.

goblins look neat, but ive always preffered alliance myself, so day one, worgen rogue.

though i cannot fathom the amount of tauren paladins started on the launch day....

So heres some new info form the presss conference.

uldum, the large broken door in southern tanaris is not the entrance to a titan instance, but a whole undiscovered zone inspired by ancient egypt where a weapon left behind by the titans, guarded more heavily than anything else on the planet.
man new zones added, or redesigned. Grim batol will final open its gates, as will mount hyjal, which is currently being defended by a newly returned malfurion stormrage from a rebirthed ragnaros in the newly formed sulphuros keep.
zones will not only be redesigned and include new monsters, but levels will be redone, or even faction changed, one blizzard rep quipped "looks like the alliance finally lost southshore!"
underwater zones, towns of coral and reef plants.
troggs play a role,..... i dont give two shits.
azshara is the 10-20 goblin zone, finally my favourite looking zone has a use!
no new talents, but there are multiple "titan pathways" to follow, these are nonclass specific, a warrior ro a priest may take a healing one for example.
plenty of phased zones, one zone gets gradually flooded and dissappears below the waves as you progress.


theres loads more but i cant be arsed, it sounds like the shit compared to the last, which seems just shit in comparison.

EDIT - one final thing, wether you buy this expansion or not, the cataclysm will ravage the world of azeroth regardless.

So get the screen shots while you can, the worlds gonna be changed forever.
