Ummm, this is Les Paul man. He deserves his own thread, not to be lumped in with a bunch of others.

Les not only did a lot of Guitars but also for Multitrack recording. The man was an innovator of the highest extreme. Deserves his own thread. :D

I had no clue Les Paul was that old!

Well, rest in peace.

^Sorry, cap, but Slash's tone is cliched and pedestrian compared to what a Les Paul really sounds like. Jimmy Page also better played that exact same song decades earlier, except it was called Since I've Been Loving You. ;)

Here is the true master in all his glory:

It's mind-numbing that this man was able to pull off multi-tracking using reel-to-reel decks, and prior to that, by recording on acetates in his garage!

Now you can record and mix unlimited tracks to a laptop while sitting in front of the TV, yet pop music sucks eggs. What the hell happened to innovation?!

Makes me want a les paul, to bad authentic left handed ones are over 1,500 :(

Thats crazy to be able to do that with so little gear.

And Caps, slash aint got nothing on this fellow. It's not about the crazy speed for sweep picking arpeggio's, but making a a unique and sweet sound. Well, in my opinion at least ;)

And thats not even the good old RATM ones.

My video is geared towards a more modern audience. Not an example of how technical a guitar can be played. ;)

CAPS / ? :p

Morello is cool but we all know he's got a shitload of assorted funky gadgetry slapped to his piece. Still a talented player though.

Fellow in my unit named caps, it just sort of slipped out.

Morello only uses a digitech whammy pedal, and a delay peddle, I think he has one more that he use's only if he wants to kick it above 11 for a certain song. He has a incredibly simplistic set to get the sounds he makes, which is pretty crazy. If you look at someone like u2's "Edge" who has about 35+ pedals per show, 3 aint bad.

I'm only twiddling your fiddle, Exat. ;)

But Slash ain't mine. In fact he's one of the more 'par' guitarists out there who can somehow bend those strings to make himself a bit more than he is. I figured the Godfather solo would move folks (aimed at Dubs).

Morello is cool too. When I saw Rage Against The Machine at Brixton in 1992, I was truly blown away. Even when Billy Bragg tried to do Maynard's bit during 'Know Your Enemy'.

Yeah, Billy Bragg? I'm as confused as y'all.

The one guy who plays Les Paul guitars and speaks very highly of him has yet to make a comment... Come on Zakk Wylde, say something dude.
