Hoooooly shiiiiiiit!!! That stuff's really bat-shit insane crazy!!! This looks to be the dumbest movie, yet so absurdly chaotic that it might actually be the next Citizen Kane!!

actually from what ive seen in the trailers on screen the effects were pretty shitty compared to some videogames ive seen.

You're saying that there exists gaming consoles capable of rendering those effects REALTIME!?!?

Saw a promo last night...looked like the most insane, over the top, bat shit crazy "let's see how much shit we can blow up!" thing I've ever seen.

Disaster porn? Aye.

I hope "The Road" is out about the same time as 2012...

For what kind of movie it is.....it looks okay to me. Just a throw away visual film. With John Cusack. So i'm there...

I'll pass on this one. A trailer was on last night on tv. And I kepting wondering shouldn't the plane be flying much higher than it should? I wonder how many people will be panicing when this date comes? More than Y2K?

It looks like "Independance Day" minus the aliens.

I've never dug disaster films, anyhow, so I'm taking a pass...

Yes, but is there a cheesy Eurofunk soundtrack? Only then would it be official. :p

Man, I wasn't sure if this had already come out or not. I'm completely disinterested :|

There's a time and a place for watching EPIC disaster, so I'm not about to snub it out-right.

For what it is - a bunch of stuff exploding and falling over and everything being ridiculous, over the top and implausible - it looks like it does it well.

Plus, as I've said a few times recently, anything with John Cusack in is worth seeing.

Whether I'd be bothered to pay to see it in the cinema is another thing, although on a big screen with big sound would be best suited I'd have thought.

I don't expect it to have a good story, or good characters though.

Independence Day was rather enjoyable back in the day, but The Day After Tomorrow was generally pish. So if it's more the former than the latter, then that's a good thing.

What we can all be sure of though, is it'll be better than 10,000 BC.

that is one of the dumbest god damn things i've ever seen on film.

i'm also completely uninterested.

No. It's pre-rendered. But videogames, you see, are not. :p

Wow, actually paid attention to this trailer while out to the movies this weekend and all I can say is the whole ground crumbling *just* behind the car/plane etc. was annoying as hell.

I may netflix this puppy some time, but I expect I'll regret in the morning.

i hate how people are seriously thinking we're done in 2012. last time it was 2000 and we're still here. the mayan calendar noted it was the end of a cycle not the world. some people, i swear are asshats. and if the mayans were so smart, they shoulda been able to foretell their own demise

Damn straight.

the mayan calendar noted it was the end of a cycle not the world.

Interesting. You wouldn't think it from the way it always gets blabbed about "in da meeja".
