I heard this project just got kicked out of Australia. The weakening dollar made filming there not much of a bargain for anyone involved.

Vin Deisel got the axe !?! These are truly the end times my friend. :(

Seriously, one wonders when other countries will follow suit becuse of our bad economy and just don't want to take on any American Dollars anymore. (China) Those will truly be scary times.

Well, fortunately there's a number of countries who are looking to offset the growth in strength of their own currencies till the dollar can start to build upward momentum again. That will help a little bit, at least.

Didn't want to make a new thread, but thought some would be interested in this...

I like the alien look of the cg suit, but it needs more of the white and black coloring added in. And the eye piece seems photoshopped or something...

the whole suit is photoshopped. apparently the suit is gonna be like that in the movie so he really wont be wearing a suit

I realize that. That's why I called it a CG suit.:p

They're wearing motion capture suits on set which will later be filled in with the cg outfit to give it a more organic or alien appearance. That's all fine with me as the suit is supposed to be generated from the ring, but something about that eye piece makes it look like an amateur photoshop job. Like EW did it for the cover or something. Hopefully it will look better for the final film...

Eh, not sold yet. I'm not buying him as Hal Jordan....hopefully he proves me wrong. I'm holding out for the next Superman movie.

This Green Lantern movie needs to make a boat load of money for any "Justice League movie series" to happen.

The last DC Comics property put on screen Jonah Hex was a box office bomb. Opened in over 2800 theaters and only made about ten million dollars.

i'm a bit lukewarm to it, waiting to see it in motion.

But hal jordon is a conservative pilot from the desert. He's not like superman or spiderman and i would have chose an actor with a bit more range to pull him off. plus he looks like wil ferrel in the 80's.

What, no Hawkman?!?!?
I'm down for GL, and even more a JLA movie. Wish it was Bradley Cooper playing him instead. Hope it all doesn't flop. I liked Jonah Hex, it should've done better. If anything was going to suck, I was expecting Thor...

I was thinking more Ben Stiller from Mystery Men.

I believe they call that "Skank".:p

As for Reynolds....I'v got some faith in the dude. He's mostly known for comedic roles, but he's had a few dramatic thrown in here and there which I thought were good. And there's great buzz around Buried, but haven't seen it yet.

I'm honestly more worried about Gossip Girl playing Ferris. Something about the girl has never sat right with me.

And i'm sure you can all figure out who this character is....

Green Lantern's booth (http://comicbookmovie.com/fansites/TheDogPound/news/?a=20356) at Comic Con. With Abin Sur!

Looks to me like they're staying pretty damn faithful to the source. I was thinking they would try to shy away from pink aliens...

Yeah, but before that they had The Dark Knight, which went on to be the 2nd highest grossing film ever.
