Fucking cancer. This does sound bad, not a lot of details really, but the whole "undergoing a special programme" sounds odd. Treatments for prostate cancer are--I thought--pretty straight forward unless you're in dire straits or really committed to bucking the established way of treating the illness.

I wonder how early on they caught it. With my Dad they did so rather early and he had a 'best case scenario' with regards to both his treatment and recovery.

On a mildly entertaining note, my Dad--with his thick, gravelly Boston accent--still pronounces the word 'prostrate' :D
