and told never to come back. this is for our dear SC native, clang.
back when i was 20 (in 1990), 2 of my close friends and i were on an extended road trip through the southeast. we were wandering all over VA, TN, NC, SC and GA on the back roads.
we found ourselves in oconee state park outside of wallhalla. one of my friends, who wasn't so skilled at camping and the outdoors as my other friend and i, accidentally (and i do mean accidentally) started a forest fire in a state park - a relatively big one at that. :stunned::stunned:
he got arrested and my other friend and i just got torn to pieces by the state cops. it wasn't pretty. i called my extended family network in the south and my uncle (via my parents, who had basically raised this friend of mine who got busted) came to the rescue. he bailed my friend out, got him a lawyer and somehow got the charges dropped against him.
welp, as we were leaving, the south carolina state trooper we'd been dealing with said and i do quote from memory, " you 3 idiots get the fuck out of south carolina. don't ever come back and if ever see the 3 of you again, i'll arrest y'all as a public nuisance."
needless to say, i've never been so happy in all my life to see the words "welcome to georgia."
like i said, i overstate the whole "banned from SC" but at the time i took that cops word as the gospel truth, man.
