I got Deadlands 1 at Blockbusters for approximately £1 in the bargain bin. I expect to shell out the same again. ;)

Another unique twist, logged on to Amazon yesterday morning, they had a simple instock tag, meaning they finally got their shipment, and then boom... b the afternoon our sales rank shot up around 60% and as of 6:00 they only had one copy left again, besides the external sellers.

Amazon re-stocked and sold out again.

Amazon sucks, dude. They were constantly sold out of AUTOPSY of the DEAD with the price continually fluctuating between list and 10% off. I finally yelled at them and they ordered a ton of copies. Now they have plenty in stock at a fixed 10% discount with free shipping, but it's too late--the customers have effectively been scared away already.

Amazon should have sold more than double the quantity of AUTOPSY they did during the Halloween season and while the title was still current on Fangoria's new release list, but they are assclowns. Such is a necessary evil when self-distributing.

I know. I mean, if you burn your hand on the stove, you put some freaking oven gloves on, not do it again with your ball sack. :p

Still though, there's a certain cache with it always going out of stock - to some I guess it'd make it look even more popular. And why not, cos DL2 rocks, yo.

It doesn't work that way in retail except perhaps with those that have already bought a copy ("hey, it's sold out on Amazon so my copy must be RARE!")

Nope, if you're a small-fry producer, the product needs to be in stock and at a consistent, reliable price when the customer is looking to buy or they will just move on.

Another problem with Amazon is that they use the product pages for independent titles to advertise the big-shot releases, yet there is no reciprocal promotion. For example, Night of the Creeps is listed among the products for "Customers Who Bought This Item Also Bought" on the Deadlands 2 page, yet if you go to the Night of the Creeps page, Deadlands 2 is nowhere to be found.

Why the f*ck does a wide release title like Night of the Creeps need to be pimped on the backs of independent titles?

Bio-Weapon on the residents of a small Maryland city is brings down a world of Horror for 6 strangers that take refuge in a large theater cineplex.
