This is sort of endorsement of powerline technology. This is a simple way to network your house for internet, although it is expensive to use all over the house.

Powerline uses your house's electrical wiring as the means to provide an ethernet connection between two points. I use the U.S. version of this model:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Belkin-Powerline-Networking-1000Mbps-Enclosures/dp/B00267Q3SI/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1257865333&sr=8-7

Plug one into the wall near your router, and one near your gaming system. The above Belkin units perform great in my house. I use wireless as well for most things, but I use the Belkin to connect my home theater. The Belkin kicks Wireless N to the curb. It connects my Playstation 3, HD DVD player, and Roku Netflix/Amazon player with no hiccups and real world throughput of up to half a gigabit.

Results will vary based upon the wiring in your house between the two points, but in my house it works great.

For which I wait till they come on a DVD I can hold in my hand. :D

Fallout 3 "Add-on Pack 2" for instance (Broken Steel & Point Lookout ... seemingly the only ones really worth bothering with), and recently GTA Episodes From Liberty City. :)

omg I can't beat this dead horse enough - but playing games on xbox live is a totally different experience to anything contained on a disc...I truly believe you'll wonder how you did without it!!!

Meh, I've never really played multiplayer. I did a bit back in the day on the original Counter Strike, and I did a spell on Delta Force 2 during my first year at uni ... but that's it for online gaming.

Otherwise, it was four-player Halo 2 during my 2nd and 3rd years at uni.

Just another complication to be honest, I've never really been fussed about playing folk online. Not my style, yo...:p

OMG Delta Force!!!!!!!!!

that was an awesome game...

All I can say on your other points is: once you've set up your xbox - you're done, and playing games online...PC games online seems so complicated to me, makes me not want to bother...

I've had the best, literally, the best gaming experiences of my life sharing those mad moments with friends at the same time..."did you see that?!?!" those kinda things...t'is a very social way of gaming, I love it.
