it is a bit of a double standard but in some ways it isn't. i think the difference in the mindset of the person. a masturbation device is just that, something that assists one in getting off (i've been told by several former girlfriends that for women, sometimes fingers aren't enough). an inflatable doll conjures up an entirely different picture (to me at least) and one that involves a level of mental desperation that is a rather pathetic.
