I managed to get set about by a group of chavs on xmas eve when I was blind drunk in town so I woke up a bit sore with a bust lip & painful jaw, and cursing myself for being so drunk that I couldnt defend myself & slotted at least a couple of them! We'll see what tonight brings when Im back out again & staying more or less stone cold sober
Anyway, other than that had a nice Christmas! Got an acoustic guitar which Ive been after for a while so thats all good, plenty of books to read, chocolate to eat & a few practical presents! a great christmas dinner with duck, goose & turkey all together & my grandparents round too (I feel lucky that at almost 28 years old I still have two grandparents to sit & listen to stories from at xmas, they may be in their late 70's but both are still very active & really brilliant people) then spent a few hours in the evening with the girlfriend, then settled down to watch TV when I got home, alls well :D

I was arseholed yesterday. Absolutely rinsed. Bottle of Martell and a load of beers. Dinner was lush though.

I was pretty drunk yesterday too. Mostly beers tho, but alot of them. I had that mandatory the-day-after-crap the first thing I did when I woke up today. I'm not a man again until I get the system rinsed and a pizza in my belly on days like these.
Christmas Eve was nice, we sat around burning bibles and other religious texts and recalled the times of Lenin. As is tradition in my commune.

'twas me and the new ladyfriend's first christmas together and it went very well. we had to go to four different dinner celebrations, and ate loads of great food. got a few new pieces of exercise equipment, some gift cards, cologne, ties, candles, and a few books. got to see almost all of my family, so it was a great holiday season.
however, my dear old grandmother's cat died this morning and now i'm about to head over to her place and plant the poor thing in the back yard. she's all busted up about it, so i'm kinda feeling down about that whole deal.
new year's is less than a week away, and we've got plans made for attending a wine party/poker game on new year's eve, then it's time for my birthday and more free shit!
hope everyone else had a good one and here's to a great 2010 for everyone.

A wine poker evening sounds like an excellent way to spend New Years Eve! Me and two of my best buddies are going to Stockholm to spend it there.

I got a printer, which i've wanted forever, pants, socks and underoos, and chocolate. That was good, but my friends are all out of town, my mom had to work, and I slept 2 hours the night before. So I did what anyone in my position would do- I stayed inside, drank pop, ate doritos and played Team Fortress 2 all day.

Thanks for asking Tricky, yes i had a good Christmas.
Scored some gift cards which is what I prefer.
I also bought LouCipherr's son Layne a Blu-Ray Player and Hot Fuzz, His parents got him an HDTV... This kid os rocking som serious HD stuff for an average 13 year old, but seeing his face when he opened that blu-ray player and movie was awesome stuff he was so happy.
I think that made my XMAS, and spending it with friends and family. That was better than any gift i could have given or gotten.

Got some money, a couple of books, a few DVDs and some obligatory deoderants/shower gels I'll still have hanging around next Christmas.
We had some nibbles on Christmas Eve with my aunt, her husband and their son then on the day, as is the tradition, my grandparents came round mid-morning before the presents and stayed the whole day. Unfortunately with one of my uncles spending Christmas with his new wife and my other uncle only being able to stop for a coffee (and his wife having to stay home to take care of their recently operated-on dog) it seemed slightly less of an occasion than some other years but nevertheless, the spirit was merry and the food was great so it was an all-round good Chrimble, while I could keep my eyes open at least.
Will be spending tomorrow evening round my grandparents for some more nibbles with my two uncles hopefully in attendance.

I got Herring. Lots of it. Herring in cream, Herring rolls. Only thing to wash it down with was a bottle of Kirschwasser. Thank God for Spaghetti. Would've died from Herring poisoning without it.

Made out like a bandit.
Bunch of books (Cyanide & Happiness, 24 annual 2010, the new Richard Hammond and Jezza Clarkson books, and even a semi-gag-gift in the form of a signed (store promotion type deeley where he rinsed off a bunch of them like) Ross Kemp On Afghanistan (bit of a family in-joke referring to his narration style on that show, the show itself though is brilliant).
Couple of DVDs - Monsters VS Aliens 2-disc, and Inglourious Basterds R1 2-disc.
Couple of CDs - Prodigy "Invaders Must Die", and UNKLE "End Titles: Stories For Film"
The "big present" was a Kodak Zi8 HD pocket video camera with 16gb SDHC card - I've still got to get it all out of the box properly and get it up-and-running, but I've been busy with DVDs, meals, TV, and preparing for some filming on Monday.
Also got a kick arse black canvas messenger bag, a bunch of Xmas choccies, and some bathroom set thingy (shower gel and flannel) by some geezer called Ted Baker or something (apparently well known name, but I've got no idea who he is, lol).
Then, as is tradition, I went online and purchased the following:
Watchmen: Directors Cut 2-disc R1 DVD
UNKLE "War Stories" CD (Double Disc)
The Big Book of Top Gear 2010
And I've got my eye on The Saboteur for Xbox360, which is going cheap on various sales. :)
The day itself was good, there was some snow and ice on the ground, so technically it was a white Xmas, there was good stuff on telly, we had a lovely roast beef lunch, and did some charades at the table etc.
Good stuff! :thumbsup::)

Ooh... let me know if it's any good. I think Liam's trying to tempt me to chip in on a Wii with the lure of that thing that weighs you and tells you how to do yoga and stuff. Hmm!
My best gift this year was that it all went smoothly despite my dad being in the US (my parents are divorcing and this was our first Christmas without him so new traditions and routines had to be created!).
My second best gift was a 16 gig iPod nano with speakers :D Haha.
I also got a special edition DVD of La Haine, and Rosemary's Baby and A Streetcar Named Desire, three of my favourite films, from my ma, and amazingly, what looks to be actually a really nice dress from my brother, although I'm no doubt too fat for it at this point in the holidays >.<

Had a good christmas here. The most fun was watching the little one open her presents, but I got a few things as well.
New Cordless Drill, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Ipod Dock, clothes, and a bullshit Netflix "gift card" that I'll never use.
It was a nice time. The Whiskey and honey baked ham hangover the next morning was horrible, though.:dead:

Well, I went out boxing night but there was no sign of the shits who beat me up on xmas eve so unfortunately I havent got my own back yet, I even stayed more or less tee-total purely for that reason! but its not a huge town & I will see them again at some point
Anyway I'm really enjoying my new acoustic guitar and have sore fingertips now! (ive neglected my electric a bit of late so my fingertips have gone soft again) & im generally just enjoying the time away from work, going to spend a couple of days with my g/f tomorrow in York & then looking forward to NYE in manchester :)

Will your legal system allow you to purchase and carry an unbreakable umbrella?

I had Christmas Eve at my cousins with my cousins and Uncle, Aunt and immediate family. I myself started off with a few drinks with gin. We had cold cut sandwiches, cheese and chocolate fondue, dips and many cakes and cookies. We opened gifts, and I took many pictures for the family.
Had Christmas day dinner with my family of ham, sweet and regular potatos, a salad and more cookies.
I got an all wood media tower (one heavy mother) and almost broke my back lifting it, a pair of jeans, black dress socks, an alarm clock, a coffee grinder, 3 pack Charlie Brown Holiday specials, a massage for a later date and about $150 in cash. I'm satisfied.
Watched about half of Home Alone and then headed off to work.

Ha ha well, it probably could be done! I also have a belt with a nice big solid metal eagle buckle on it which I can get off very quickly to whack one of them round the swede! Im not really a fighter & certainly dont go looking for trouble, Im not one for weapons either, but it wasnt fair when 5 of them piled into me when I was down, so its game on if I run into them again!

If you can afford it, then get one. Not only will you have a very nice umbrella for the rain and to escort a chick, but an easy to use weapon that no attacker will ever expect. It could be used like a baseball bat or a kendo stick. I believe they can even be carried on planes. I have considered buying one, myself. Every person has a right to defend themself and no one has to be a fighter to do that.

You've never heard the phrase "made out like a bandit?" - basically, I got a bunch of cool stuff and did rather well ... list is in an above post.
Funnily enough though, one of my chums joked that I'd 'kissed a lady in a criminal fashion', haha.

In all seriousness, I got the UK Dawn three discer, Left 4 Dead 2 (which I sneakied in late Nov), a years XBL Gold subscription, and a very expensive bottle of Martell cognac. My Nat-Nat got me a shitload of rich Swedish chocolate too.

A pair of knit gloves from an Aunt, and a bottle of booze from my flatmate.
I should really stop telling people I'm not into the commercialization of Christmas. People are starting to believe me...

Went home, had a wee family falling-out on Christmas Eve, but everything was okay on Christmas Day. Managed to hack my wee brother's new PSP (so he can play homebrew) without breaking it. Had good food. Had a couple of beers. Got a few prezzies. Got a little bit of money (I'll be using it towards the rent, by the looks for things though). It was fine.

i had a great christmas. the boy was ecstatic about his gifts. my old man gave me 2 liters of excellent bourbon as part of my present (along with some cash). i have zero complaints.
i went to my aunt and uncle's on christmas day for dinner. there was much eating, drinking and merriment along with talk of the folks that were important to us who are gone now. i think that's important at christmas, remembering the folks that made it so awesome when you were younger but who are gone now. you are never truly dead as long as there is someone who speaks your name.

No new guns ... no additional ammo ... sigh ...
I did get a copy of King's new novel Under the Dome and I'll have to admit that after a couple of decades of writing nothing but slop he seems to be going "old school" again.
Also got a five pack sampler of Weihenstephen beer. A coloring book and crayons (I'm not joking ... my wife actually bought me a coloring book and crayons ... Crayolas). Some cat food -- Nine Lives (for the cats, not me). A cigar. My mom gave me $100 which I will save and use to purchase powder and primers at the next gun show (unless my wife finds the money, in which case she will spend it, and I will buy nothing). If she doesn't find it, I may skip the gun show altogether and start saving for one of these http://www.beretta.com/Pistols-Carbines/Defence/Full/92FS/index.aspx?m=82&f=2&idv=18&id=795 chamber in .40 S&W. Time will tell.
