Anyone going? First time in history. The BIG FOUR! The kings of metal and thrash. Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax.
I had the chance to see Megadeth, Anthrax, and Slayer back in the nineties along with Alice in Chains before they were even known. All on the same bill. I was in the pit during Slayer and I coulda swore I had been transfered to hell. I'm not a big Slayer fan but found myself amongst the minions as they hit the stage. Believe me, you don't want to be caught off guard smack dab in the pit during a Slayer concert.
The Texas fans sure gave Alice in Chains a hard time back then, giving them the finger and yelling "you suck" and all that. I feel honored though to have seen them in their infancy.
There are plenty of other future tour dates besides Sonisphere for Megadeth and Slayer mainly, along with Priest and Testament and some younger bands, anybody have plans for those? I won't get to see any of the U.S. dates unless I travel out of Boise, ID.
