This doesn't affect me personally, however, I am aware of the fact that legions of gamers still play halo 2 and this isn't going to sit well with them at all.
So...are we gonna have another nerd boycott on our hands?
Thoughts?

Not exactly a legion. It's time they moved on.

^this.
You cant keep them up forever, how many people do you know who cant buy a 360, but have high speed internet for online gaming? personally i dont even know anyone who uses an xbox anymore they dont even have a monetary trade in value at game stores because nobody uses them or buys them, they dont even stock the games for them in some stores because they dont have a niche or retro value.
But companies have to pay to keep servers up and they shouldnt have to if the games arent played.

I didn't know those numbers but i thought it would be way more than that.
No one cares about 600 people anyway. Just ask the detainees at guantanamo bay.

My nephew says he prefers it. I think those games are boring and redundant, especially online.
Kill, die, spawn, repeat.
I play RE5 and L4D 1&2, but not online anyway. Much better.

It's definitely a hit or miss when it comes to online gaming. Although, for me, it's not the repetitiveness of it as you describe, it's mainly the luck of the draw on whether you play with assholes or not.
It's a shame that one's gaming experience depends on the civility of other people.
