No, no, no, no, no, NO. I can only hope this doesn't make it to filming.

Widow of the late great John Belushi is working towards a tv series based off of The Blues Brothers film. (http://www.myfoxchicago.com/dpp/news/metro/blues-brothers-tv-show)

Blues Brothers is one of my all time favorite comedies. Hell....probably all time favorite films, as well. This just has fail written all over it. But then again -- we've already had Blues Brothers 2000, so how bad can it be?:stunned:

Ugh, wouldn't Dan Aykroid need to approve too? Didn't they learn their lesson with the sequal?

If it works, wait for Animal House, Ghostbusters, and Stripes to have their own show.

Why would the actors need to approve any of it? I doubt they own any rights in this.

Again, as usual, I say go ahead. I won't watch it anyway, so why do I care.

You do realize The Blues Brothers were a real band, not just a movie, right?

I'm not sure about who holds what portion of the rights, but Dan Aykroyd and a few members of the band still play shows on a regular basis. So being the creator and all...I imagine that he in fact holds some, if not most of the rights.

Two out of three have already been done...

Delta House? How long have I been asleep?

On season in 1979. It even had some of the same people from the film. D-Day, Flounder, Dean Wormer, etc.

Yeah, the order was:

Akroyd/Belushi SNL skit > band > movie(s)

I wouldn't be surprised if the movie rights are controlled separately from the rights to the band.

urrh, i imagine it will suck, showing some nerd points but i watched this in the cinema a month or two ago and i specifically remember something along the lines of d-day driving off in a stolen cop car and never being seen again or something.
Could be wrong but if they could retcon something thats stated as concrete i smell a "for the money" tie in, correct or incorrect?
