O.k a name change is all well and good but that's only the start. What's in a name though. Would a turd by any other name not stink just as much?

I don't even know how to diagnose that franchises problems.

First off, this is a new era of gaming. I know there's a niche for this sorta thing but, imo, most gamers don't wanna get stuck every ten minutes figuring out a puzle in order to get to the next area only to have to figure out the next one.

From talking to people i gather that most want a tight experience but not too short (around 15 hours) But more than anything a free flowing, intuitive experience.

Again, imo, when a game is too hard a you have to consult a guide every 10 minutes it detracts from the experience.

But what 's the answer then? More enemies? They've tried that and combat against human A.I. is just plain goofy and has never worked well with the series' lego like character models.

The original game was about exploration. The game was never supposed to be about combat. However, it is the era in which we live. That might have been fine 10-15 years ago but things are different now.

Just look at what the RE franchise did. Sure RE 5 is a turd but RE 4 at the time was the greatest game i ever played with white knuckle action throughout. Perhaps they should go the over the shoulder route?

Like it or not the RE franchise was becoming increasingly irrelevant as well nad They had to shake it up and now it is relavent again. Perhaps this is where they are going with this, because as we all know this is a copycat industry. If someone has success with a certain formula they had better patent it or else their idea will be in evey game from here to tokyo.

Any thoughts on the subject?
