Jscott and I have started new cinema themed podcast called Profondo Cinema at

www.profondocinema.com

In-depth discussions about cinema, and sometimes television. A blend of geek trivia, synopsis and opinions about drama and comedy films, with a gangster lean towards horror.

For episode one we dive head first into part one of our George A. Romero career retrospective. (hence the posting of this in the Dead Discussion Forum)

We have a few episodes in the bag so we are aiming to have an episode come out every week, for now.

Check it out and let me know what you think, and if you are on podcast alley or itunes, give us a vote or comment if you get the chance. Thanks for looking!

Thank you Debbie! The next episode will be up next Wednesday and it will cover everything between Night and Dawn, and I do mean EVERYTHING!

No problem. If you go through night-Dawn, make sure you include Living Dead at Manchester Morgue and The Blind Dead films. :)

Awesome! Who'd have thought in this day and age that it would be possible to actually have a listenable podcast by knowledgeable folks that don't act like complete douchebags?

I streamed the audio while relaxing in the hotel after the convention in Indy. Great job all around, and thanks for the nods towards 'Autopsy.' My only critique would be that you're just far too soft-spoken, Axlish.

I could listen to 10 podcasts like this about NIGHT and I can't wait to hear what you come up with for DAWN. I hope the topic spans several episodes!

Dubious (or should I say DT :) ), thanks for the comments and I hope I didn't overstep any boundaries if you know what I am saying.

We have a feature length commentary planned for Dawn (extended cut) and we plan to pack that one to the gills.

The combination of being soft-spoken and owning a shitty mic will plague the first four episodes (we have already recorded 4 episodes) but I have a new mic now so that should be sorted out, hopefully.

Oh I thought you meant zombie movies in between that time not Romero's films between Night and Dawn. :bored:

There were some good ones made after Night and before Dawn lol.
Not by George Romero. The title clearly says "George A. Romero Career Retrospective."

If they get around to Amando de Ossorio and Bob Clark, then we can expect other 70s "zombie" movies.

Thanks for all the responses. I'm glad so many have been enthusiastic about what is essentially just a labor of love and a reason for axlish and I to BS on a regular basis.

I implore any of you to email in any queries, comments, topic suggestions, etc to profondocinema@gmail.com

I finally listened to the DAWN commentary, and it was very,VERY entertaining.
The passoin you two have for movies and collecting is what stood out the most.

Thanks major jay, we've been talking about doing that commentary for years, it was fun. I think we could do another commentary and not cover the same comments.

If anyone's interested, Profondo Cinema has a new url. http://profondo-cinema.blogspot.com is now our new home. There you can find interviews with Mike Gornick, Jeanie Jefferies, and Gary Streiner amongst others (Dubious Comforts and thxleo even sit down for long conversations with us!), and we plan to have more Romero related interviews in the future.
