US DVD Release?

Anybody knows if Survival will be release in DVD in US? if it will be, any idea of the date?

It's got to do a run on VOD and then a limited theatrical stint first, then it'll be out on DVD sometime after that, but no date has been set for it.

It's already out on R2 DVD though. The R1 however, will no doubt have all the extras (as they're currently being cut together), as the R2 was a bare bones release.

There has been a few of the R2 on eBay, but it's been hard to win if you are cheap like me.

I'm sure it's beyond his control, but this is a sure fire way of losing LOTS of DVD sales in the US. With piracy the way it is, I'll be surprised if it sells 1,000 copies in the states. A lot of people I know have already seen it - and there's only one way that could be possible. Sucks for George, but I'm sure it's not his doing.

I found the R2 for just 13.00 shipped. I picked one up. He has several.

Definitely, I'm old school, or a bit of a "purist", and at this point I've had to go out of my way to avoid seeing it until I can get a hold of it on DVD. Everyone I know has seen it.

Saw it on apple's trailer site (http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/independent/survivalofthedead/) as May 28th. But its on comcast ONDemand right now... for $9.99 :(

Would be nice if the US dvd has some extra gore in it, but I'm not optimistic. The version Romero has been screening at festivals is the same as the R-rated version already on R2 dvd.

maybe they should release a "naked" version of this movie so I can composite the bloody effects better....

man actually I'd LOVE that kind of project - they release a film without the gore but WITH the elements needed to create it, so budding AFX workers like me can get down and dirty with the material to make our own version...

kinda like what Pitchshifter used to do with their albums - provide royalty free samples for their fans to make their own music with...

For the US release of Survival they're putting out an "App of the Dead". With the application you can take pictures of your friends and then turn them into zombies. Then you can shoot them. And then upload it all to Facebook or whatever fake-friend website of your choice. :confused:



Take photos of your friends or import them from the photo gallery, then add over 20 zombie features, including open wounds, weapons, and a gallery of deformed eyes and mouths.

A custom-built engine that allows players to “shoot” the zombies they’ve created, including spectacular blood-splatter.

What is weirder is how much similar the artwork is from mine to his
