Deadlands 2 HD DVD impressions :
First off , I have to say I thought the SD DVD was pretty much unwatchable
because it was so damn dark I couldn't just get into it .
The HD DVD quality wise is a huge improvement over the DVD both in terms of the
darkness level and in PQ .
The Directors Cut was still a little dark but you could see much more detail in
the dark areas . This was the version that I preferred because it had a better
sound track and no major playback problems .
The Work Print was even less dark than the Directors Cut and in my opinion had
the best overall detail but in the brighter scenes the whites were a bit too
bright . I noticed that the Work Print also had a frame flicker from time to
time that was a little distracting .
The PQ is much better than the Anthen SD DVD and what I expected from an upresed
DVD . The featurettes were very interesting and well done . Gary did an awesome
job and it turned out better than I thought it would , all things considered .
As for the movie itself , I thought it has a great soundtrack , above average
for the budget . The gore level is low/medium but very realistic . Great
locations , good acting , and strong production values make this a must see for
zombie fans . Very impressive for the budget . Two thumbs up .
