He was accused of murdering an Alabama student on vacation. It was a big news story here in the states around 5 years ago. Through a lack of evidence he was released.

They'll nail him on the lesser charge of extortion, the judge will sentence him fairly harshly, unofficially punishing him for being the murdering filth he is, and then they'll close the book on him.

Only way they'll ever find Holloway's remains is if they give this prick some sort of deal. Also sick.

Peruvian police say the Dutchman Joran van der Sloot has confessed to killing a young woman in his Lima hotel room last week.

Police Colonel Abel Gamarra told The Associated Press early Tuesday that van der Sloot confessed during an interrogation.

Van der Sloot was also the prime suspect in the 2005 disappearance of an American teenager on the Caribbean island of Aruba.

Don't know what the criteria for a death penalty case is over there but i can't imagine that their prison system is very pleasant.
