I have to do the whole shirt and tie thing every working day and so I have quite a few combinations.

However, the other day I spilt food (messy eater!) on one of my favourite ties and it's left a grease stain. Now I've tried to wash a tie once before in a washing machine and it went all funny - lost it's shape and stuff.

So how do you clean a silk tie? Surely it can be a job for a dry cleaner?

I haven't the first clue how to clean a silk tie but did a Google search & found this:

Hopefully you can get some info from there that will help you get your tie clean. Good luck with it :).

sport remover should do it. but i dunno if it'll affect the underlying silk.

i'd send it out to a cleaner.
