Reminds me of all those folks who worship Al Pacino's character in Scarface.

He's a bully and a thug. He is not worth your admiration. Please stop being so stupid.

Ah, man, I was looking forward to seeing it. Now you ruined the flick for me. :D

Yeah, these people definitely have issues if they are honoring this guy. It's a sad situation all around -- but this guy was definitely not worthy of any respect for his actions.

just shows how the police gets no respect anymore over here, there praising a cop killer like he is a folk hero because he stayed off the radar for a week then shot himself. big hero:rolleyes:

On the topic of "cop hate", I just don't get how somehow they seem "fair game?"

It's like over in Ireland where somehow it's perfectly OK to chuck petrol bombs, or even shoot at them?

How are the individuals involved in this anything other that utter anti-social scum?

Why are rubber bullets not being fire at these people? Give them a one minute warning, and start firing at them!

These people are pieces of shit just like those who support Colton Harris-Moore on FB. These losers think it is so damn cool, until something happens to them. The who do they call? The police. Kind of makes me wish there was no FB. If you notice a lot of those people are Generation Y dipshits. Fuck the police? Fuck you!

I just can't wrap my head around the number of people who 'like' the page. Even if a full third (to pull a number out of my ass) are just joining to argue against it, show their disbelief in such a hair-brained sentiment etc. that's still a whopping 20.000 assholes unaccounted for!

Screw rubber bullets, give 'em the real kind!

If they really wanna go out in a "blaze of glory", I say let 'em.

Cop-hate is a weird phenomenom - I'm not immune to it, I try to take everyone on face value but when I see a burly, 40 year old copper pulling a 19 year old kid out of a car face first onto the ground, simply because his registration was messed up by the licensing authority, I feel the kid's plight!

Especially when that cop, after being asked quite politely for an apology, simply turns to said kid and tells him to "shut up, little boy".

I dunno, it's like politics...power mad some of them

Well, there's cop-hate and then there's cop-cocksucking. Personally, I don't believe in doing either. A lot of people don't want to be realistic in their appraisal of what cops have to deal with and go through and also what that in turn does to them.

Agreed. Some cops are just douches. But I've known ALOT of police officers in my life (used to work with several of them daily) and the vast majority of them are good down to earth good people. The thing about cops you have to figure is that ALOT of them are former service-members and they have to deal with a tremendous amount of high stress situations (how many others jobs are there where you have to worry about being killed daily?).

The biggest thing to remember with the vast majority of police is that if you act respectful ("Yes sir/no sir" "Yes ma'am/no ma'am") and don't be stupid you're not going to have any issues. The problem is that people start smarting off and act like an idiot when asked the most simple question in the world and are all shocked when the cop goes off on them.

I deal with idiots regularly in my job every day and you better believe it's difficult for me not to be set off with a hair-trigger by some people. Add the additional stress that cops have to go through I can completely understand where they're coming from -- the majority of cops are respectful to you as long as you're respectful to them.

Well said, Aces. Just like showing respect to armed service members cops should be given extreme respect and appreciation for what they do daily (also considering a great number of police personnel are retired military) -- not 'sucking-up' but respect. There's a difference. Usually sucking up to a cop will get you into even more trouble than being an out-and-out ass because they deal with more B.S. than just about any other profession.

Excellent post mate, well said.

Moat was a tool and a scumbag, the idiots leaving him (and his ilk) flowers and messages of support are also tools and scumbags.

this isn't being helped by the fact that paul gascoigne showed up, plastered to the gills, with fried chicken and lager offering to "negotiate" with moat.

true story. you simply can't make shit like that up.

This sort of thing is really not surprising or uncommon, barely newsworthy I'd say. Here's a screenshot from my own Facebook feed of just some of the weird shit like this I see posted by my friends, I don't even think about it anymore. Don't you guys see stuff like this on facebook, or is it just my taste in friends?:
