View Full Version : Big Sinkhole in Brew City

Last night, Milwaukee got hit by a huge thunderstorm with a near-record amount of rain. (between 6"-12") There was flash flooding everywhere.

(I had to race to our workshop in the middle of it and rescue puppets from the basement storage room we're renting.)

There's a whole block on the North Side with damaged foundations. But the real show-stopper is the sinkhole that opened up at a busy intersection near my neighborhood. Swallowed an SUV and a traffic light.

A State of Emergency has been declared for Milwaukee County.

In fact, it's pronounced "mill-e-wah-que" which is Algonquin for "the good land."

Pretty nuts. At least this sinkhole isn't the size of that one somebody posted last month. Pardon me, but I forget what country that was.

If I remember correctly Mike, it was Guatemala. That is, if the one you're referring to was the 'perfectly round' sinkhole that was 100 ft. deep. Weird.

Actually, only a couple puppets got a little damp.

It could have been a LOT worse.
