Did you miss the second paragraph?

For an extra dollar, patrons can top the burger with last year's big hit: chocolate-covered bacon on a stick

The chocolate-covered bacon would be just plain gross, but I don't see anything wrong with just the cheeseburger on the plain donut. It's not much different from a bun.

No, I saw that, but I'm trying to decide if I like a bacon-krispy-kreme-cheeseburger more than just bacon itself. :D

how people eat this shit is beyond me. even with the most extreme case of the munchies, i'd steer clear of this sort of gluttony....jesus christ.

Food... hmm... what can I say? I don't eat much of it... just some Boca burgers... I think films like Fast Food Nation or Supersize Me should be required for schools to show to kids... then, maybe the future will be safe. Clearly the present is not... tofu, anyone?

No....those films shouldn't be shown to schools. Parents should teach their kids whats good, whats bad, and whats okay in moderation. It's not the school or restaurant's fault - it's the parents.

I wonder how the human race survived for so many centuries without health gurus telling them what to eat.

If everything they say is so unhealthy really was, we'd be extinct by now. Like a fucking egg yolk is going to kill you. Please.

if you ask me, there is a direct correlation between the fast food industry and the obesity epidemic. shit like this is the reason we're the fattest fucking nation on the globe.

Attended a work related seminar recently where they talked about how oversized caskets for the plus size corpse was the fastest growing sector of the industry. This is probably why!

Because people used to do something called "Manual Labor" back in the day. A farmer could get away with eating eggs, bacon, and bologna for breakfast because he'd then go out and burn about 5,000 calories a day on his farm along with his farm-hands. Same goes for ranchers/etc. When people used to work it was called "work" for a reason -- not only was it mental (planning, strategy, etc.) but it was extremely physical too.

People didn't have to concern themselves with doing Atkins diets/etc. back 100 years ago because they worked their asses off -- something we as a people just don't understand.

I do the mental part well but I have a desk job. So, unless I want to eat yucky salads every day (I hate lettuce) then I go walking for at least two miles every day after work to try and make up for it.

But it's not only the food but the size of the portions Americans eat as well...

Americans aren't alone in this...you wanna see some of the super-sized Brits waddling up and down the high street these days. I swear I've seen a few 1-tonners.

JDFP is spot on, on average, our grandfathers and their generation used to be able to eat big meals and breakfasts because they did big graft throughout the day.

Very true. And most Americans still eat a farmhand's breakfast even though they have very sedentary lifestyles. I myself have reached that age where I have to check my b.p. and cholesterol, watch my coffee intake, force myself to exercise after work and eat salads instead of that very sexy burger with extra bacon and cheese. Jack Daniels used to be my friend, but these days it has become Tums and Mylanta. Used to fantasize about sex, now I think about cheeseburgers.

Very true... Poor health in general... Something likely that everyone will be hearing more and more about is that the big C is now the number one killer and all the garbage chemicals in or diet is certainly not helping.

Bingo.

If you're a fucking sloth, that's not Krispy Kreme's fault. That's not anyone's fault but your own.

People that can't get motivated enough to get off their asses, and instead blame food ("McDonald's is making us fat!") piss me off. McDonald's isn't making people fat. LAZINESS is making people fat.
