This thing was under 250 dollars!

Thats a fraction of what it cost me to build a ghostbusters proton pack. And those only cover your back. This dude made a nine foot powerloader. Shit.

While some would say this kind of devotion to geekiness is sad, I consider it inspiring. Can you imagine this showing up at a Halloween party? Awesome.

He better have fun hanging out on the front lawn cause that thing isn't fitting through any doorway!

I think it was more for display. I don't know if you watched the video, but he's got a lifesize Queen as well. Friggin awesome.

I just can't believe it was under 250 dollars! I've built some cheap props, but nothing of that size!

This sort of stuff is art as far as I am concerned...it's not just like people tracing a picture, the work and thought that goes into projects like this exemplerary.

BTW, when Aliens first came out, does anybody remember folks claiming that these power loaders were real and the USAF used them. :)

They are! Just like the hoverboards in Back to te Future 2!

Some people STILL believe they're real. Yikes.

Good call! The rumour I heard was that they were taken off the market becasue a few kids had surfed under trucks and into water....and we all know that that would never happen with a good old fashioned skateboard...right? :p

It wouldnt suprise me if such things didnt become reality in the future though, they're a bloody good idea!

It seems that James Cameron is certainly pushing for it. Seeing how he basically used them again for Avatar...

Here is the latest version of this concept to be used by the military:

It weighs less and uses 50% less power.
