The hacker (PC tower + flashlight) might seem useless, but when used on ATM machines, it makes them spit out $10,000 with each shock. Makes it easy to get more expensive items and Zombrex from pawn shops.

or you could just get all 3 gambling books and head to the giant slot machine (think it's in the slot ranch casino), do the max bet until you win (up to 100k), rinse, repeat, till you get over 6 million.

then buy the chopper, car, and suv keys from the pawnshops and whatever other big-price items to get the big spender achievement.

for those of you who are obsessive and masochistic enough to go after the master zombie genocider achievement (like myself), here's a quick video that tells (from my experience so far) the best way to get it.

bDkCef2Xi_c

so far, i'm way ahead of schedule on the kills and waiting for more case files to pop up. i tried a couple of times to just let the kid die, forget about the story, and just focus on running the SUV up and down the strip, but it is fucking boring and frustrating beyond belief.

even with the game installed on my hard-drive, there was ridiculous popping-in of the graphics. i'd be putting along (cuz even at full throttle, the SUV is fucking sloooooooooooowwwwwwwwww) and come to a dead stop, wonder "WTF?!?", only to have a tree or fence pop in directly in front of me 2 fucking seconds after i slammed into it. wheelchairs, benches, garbage cans, and parasols will seriously almost flip the SUV or kick it totally sideways if you're not careful.....and sometimes they don't pop in till after you've already ran them over and got thrown into a tailspin. fucking lame, capcom.

i'd like to slap the shit out of the the wormy little shit who decided that 72k kills would be a worthy achievement. can't wait to get this one out of the way and over....way worse and more monotonous than the 7-day survivor from DR1.

The requirements for the armored suit.

Helmet is won by defeating Jack at poker in Ante Up.

Suit is earned by completing the game under a S ranking.

Boots can be purchased for $2,000,000 at a pawn shop in Platinum Strip.

The beard is found in the back of the store, Waves of Style in Royal Flush Plaza.

The full suit give you double health and breaks apart when attacked leaving the wearing their underwear like Ghouls & Ghosts. The armor can be restored in a locker room.

Bowie Knife + Boxing gloves
Fire Axe + Sledgehammer
beer + construction hat
pitchfork + drill motor
Gems + flashlight

Best combo weapons, but for sheer novelty value combine one of those talking teddy bears with a lmg to get the freedom bear, which acts as a turret.

finally got 72k kill achievement. i'd advise against using the SUV method, you have to spend the whole damn game driving up and down the strip, and the SUV is horribly sluggish and very inefficient. here's a good explanation of the method i used, it works just fine. i had plenty of time left, and didn't even bother going into overtime mode, where i could have likely topped 90k kills.

glad that's out of the way, now the only hard one left is 50 survivors. mo, sorry we couldn't hook-up for some co-op earlier, the 72k took a bit longer to finish than i anticipated...we'll have to catch up this weekend and take a tour of fortune city together.

(this thread isn't the right place for this rant, moved it to the other DR 2 thread)

So, which combo weapons do you think are the most useful? I am going to go with the knife gloves, defiler, plate launcher, blambow, and tesla ball.

For pure comedic value, I'd have to say that the blitzkrieg, servo saw, and freedom bear are my favourites.

also,

Fuck the TK fight. Fuck it right out the goddamn door. Jesus Christ, I hate that battle.

Is dead rising 2 intentionally out to stop you getting acheivements?

First it cheated me out of my ending acheivements (technically my own fault but im going with the i was cheated anglel)..

And now on my third playthrough, i have 6 survivors (i need 8 for the acheievement) and i havnt received a god damn message or found another survivor in DAYS. what the fuck.

like i was raging about in the other DR2 thread, it seems that it's against you getting 2 particular achievements, but i had no trouble scoring the rest of them.

if i recall, andy, you said you're against using guides and the internet to help you beat the game and discover everything, but there's a series of youtube videos a guy put up that shows how to get all survivors. and there are plenty of them (maybe 10 or so) that don't have a message pop up, you just gotta be at the right place at the right time to discover them.

i will post a link to this guy's youtube page for anyone interested. it's 12 or 13 videos, with full descriptions of what to do in the info box below the video screen. just look in the uploads on the right-hand side of the page and they should all be there. hope this helps: http://www.youtube.com/user/xMOBxMurderCORE

Something ruddy weird I noticed on my 2nd play through was when you get the cutscene that shows chuck crushing a queen, if you skip it (as I did on my 2nd time through) when you resume the game the zombies are still alive, and what's more you'll never find a single queen inside a single zombie - as if the event hasn't been triggered properly to allow you it, nor did the chick in the control room tell me "the military are arriving in an hour" at the end of the game (I was just there in the safe house anyway).

Just something I noticed recently.
