Looks pretty cool. Either somebody posted something about this a few months ago or there's a very similar game being developed...

Yeah, this sounds familiar, but either way it's interesting, but I'd have to wait to see more about the final version before I get too excited.

looks similar to the upcoming zombie rpg for pc called dead state. i think that the thread i started about that game is from the same website....while this looks okay, i'm holding out for that one.

"Looks" nice, but I'd like to see what's tactical about it... The examples of the gameplay don't seem to show much other than walking around...

I want tactical play:-
- Diff chars have diff ability. You control them all.
- Diff weapons have different qualities. Even down to fire being of use. ie: Throw a petrol bomb to block off somewhere for a while etc.
- Day/night cycles.
- Can even try and move in stealth to be less noisy for example.
- And most importantly good solid missions! eg: Obtaining supplies. Saving people. Escorting people. Closing shoping mall?

But the moment it gets 'tactical' you need the ability to pause, allocate orders to your group, and then start the game again.

This looks like you just run around with one person, so most of the tactical elements are gone :( But I guess if it's multi-player then this could save it!? But is it then just Alien Swarm with zombies?

Couple of interesting images...

http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/news/56076/Trapped-Dead-Screenshots-Released - Look at first image. Seems to imply sound might be a concern?

A bit from the press pack splurge...

The middle shot is taken in debug environment and shows how the zombies react to each other as well as their environment: Every NPC has a line of sight (the pink area), a radius of hearing (red line) and even an area of smell – if a character is bleeding, the zombies will start charging towards him, attracting by the new prey. As the zom-bies also react to the other NPCs behavior, attracting one enemy can and will result into pulling a crowd of infected – and ammunition is a scarce…

The last picture on the right, again debug mode, gives an idea of the A.I. system and gives an idea of the several things the undead are able to perform: They sense dis-turbances, look for corpses to feast upon, follow other NPCs, and of course, as soon as attracted by any of the players’ actions, search for any human being in their prox-imity…

So hopefully there's some tactical depth involved here...

I am confused where the tactical element comes in?

Right, where are the reviews?!?!

Although it can't be too bad surely as it won "Best Action Game 2010" in Germany?!
