Sad,
First, the guy needs to thank his lucky stars he made it as a director/producer, because God knows he has the personal presence of a cabbage.
That, and he seems to spend his time/itinerary lingering over the glory days of old, much like the Star Trek cast. Actually found myself feelin bad for him.

ah, romero. i used to have such reverence for the guy. he's a legend sure, and his work has brought us all together and helped form some pretty unique friendships, but damn, survival was fucking terrible...almost inexcusable, if ya ask me.

if i did ever meet him, i'd be honored and would think it'd be great to have a drink and chat with him, but i'd have a hard time keeping my mouth shut about how crappy survival was. diary was okay, land has a few redeeming qualities, but after survival, i've lost almost all faith in the guy.

And yet people continue to make excuses about why. That's even more mind boggling.

Shit, I thought Survival was relatively decent. A bit farcical and not really a horror film, but it beat out Diary by a country mile, as far as I'm concerned and was a lot better than other recent zed films I've seen this year.

well, you're wrong, doug.:p

edit: i'll concede that it's probably better than the majority of zombie films out there, but something like that coming from romero is unacceptable.

I understand it's a big disappointment. The worse thing I can say about his last few movies is that there was no personal connection for me to the characters or the story and they were never scary or even tense for me while watching.

Aces, it makes no sense to attempt reasoning with unbridled rancor.
