If anyone had been following my post in Lou's "ANOES" thead, or my own "What Movies Are You Watching For Halloween?" you'll know that I've had my love for the classics of the sub-genre from my youth reignited.
Even though Halloween is over, I can't stop. I just bought the entire "Child's Play"/"Chucky series last night.
So this got me to wondering, who's everyone ELSES favorite? Why? :)

Patrick Bateman. Because he's fucking awesome? :p

wow. i'd have to concur with the "other, patrick bateman" selection. nice one, bass!
was thinking of picking michael myers, but with like 8 or 9 films (including remakes) out, and only 3 at most worth half a shit, there's too many strikes against him...
so yeah, traditional slashers (jason, freddy, michael), it'd be michael myers, but with the "other" option and mr. patrick fucking bateman, it's really no contest.

You can vote for more than one if you like. I was tempted to vote for all of them. :)

I mean, c'mon. It's really no contest. What other slasher is so cool that he does a little jig to Huey Lewis and the News???

I also voted other in favor of Patrick Bateman. Coincidentally, my girlfriend and I just picked up American Psycho on Blu-Ray today.

Let me know how the PQ is on that BR, please. I'm still rocking the dvd. Which actually looks pretty damn good when upscaled...

I had to pick Voorhees... just because, y'know? Machete, man...
One thing I noticed on my recent marathons is that even though the machete is his FAVORED weapon, he's actually quite versatile, employing a variety of weapons & techniques. That + pure straight out brutality+tactics such as strategically placing the bodies for maximum shock value is the reason he got my vote.
The rest I love in varying degrees. If I had more time I could spell out what I'm a big fan of with each in turn. :)

I voted Leatherface, but if we include the small screen slashers. . . I'm going with this guy.

Yeah, I would say you could definitely count him. :) I got to thinking later, I had a couple of slots left, I probably should have put Hanibal Lecter in there, but eh, that's what the "other" was for. Anyone I forgot, or were "C" list enough to not really warrant their own listing. :)
I've been meaning to track down "Hatchet" & "Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon". I've heard that even though these are newer movies that if you're a fan of the old school genre that you will like them, so that's partially who I had in mind, plus if anyone's favorite was REALLY the killers from movies like "Sleepaway Camp", "Slumber Party Massacre" or even obscure ones like "The Nail Gun Massacre:

Yeah, but Dexter was able to do what even the great Kevin Bacon couldn't do!!! Get John Lithgow to dance! http://i530.photobucket.com/albums/dd346/RedrumSyndrum/animated%20gifs/DexterandTrinitydance.gif

I'm going with Dexter. I takes a real man to kill John Lithgow AND Jimmy Smits while making it with Julie Benz, Jamie Murray, and now possibly Julia Stiles.

Behind the Mask is just awesome. It starts out soooo 80s camp, then hits you like a punch in the gonads without warning. Def worth a watch.

The woman zombie in that scene fixes her hair in a non-zombie fashion and it bugs the hell out of me. Probably one of the only things that bugs me in that film.
