For those of you with a PS3, can anybody tell me the best format of HD that will play on my PS3?

Also, why is it that all over the internet people say AVI files can't be played on PS3, yet I'm streaming them flawlessly right now?

Also, if you own both a Mac and PS3 - it's a must that you get MediaLink. It allows you to wirelessly stream/transfer pics, music, and videos from your Mac to your PS3.

H.264/MPEG-4 seems to be the most common format to stream HD content with PS3, from what I can tell anyway.

I just got PS3 Media Server for my mac and stream everything that way. Never had a problem with any format really, occasionally mkv files with need to buffer if there HD but aside from that it rocks for a freebie.

m2ts files are 1080p and ps3 team magically squish to right around 4gigs... I can recomend a couple of good of good workflow options to get dts mkv files to play on your ps3 if needed.
