Game Summary: Risen is a 1-4 player zombie co-operative card game. The players work together to build up a territory strong enough to repel the zombie swarms until the epidemic passes and civilization can rebuild; while keeping survivors fed and sheltered. Scavenge the farm, explore the suburbs, and cleanse the city to find the food, tools, weapons, gas, and shelter you need to survive. The zombies have Risen! Will you and your friends rise up as well?

There is a movie called Risen. Also not a great way to start off your visit to homepage of the dead... Get to know us before trying to sell us. We are zombie fans we would most likely buy it but not when it is shilled in this way.

I can appreciate that, but it's not simply a sell. I'm currently looking for artists too. Sometimes people want to get involved. Sometimes people do want to get in on the game early. This is also a special case because those who do preorder can literally be drawn into the game, or have their friends drawn into the game. Turn your brother Bill into a Zombie chasing your wife in an Alley. It's a neat opportunity for people that want to become part of the genre on top of commenting or speculating on it.

Actually this sounds like it could be fun. But there's nothing about gameplay/rules on the site. Is it about keeping track of various resources, like Magic (or other CCG's)? Or is it more of a casual knockabout (Like Milk Money)? I know at this point you have to protect your intellectual assets, but I'm curious how play is handled.

I'd jump in and volunteer/sell my services as an artist/illustrator, but I sure don't have the time to design every card. (I do however have many pics of zombie puppets.) Have you thought of holding an art contest somewhere? At the very least, an open call for submissions?

There's a blog out there called Zombies and Toys that specialises in zombie tie-ins, games, & bric-a-brac. Maybe they could help you out. ( http://zombiesandtoys.blogspot.com/ )

Keep us informed! Best of luck!

(Welcome to the board!)

I can't find a good way to post a rule set. Facebook doesn't post that. Kickstarter doesn't post that. You're welcome to buzz me directly. I'll send you the rules so you can see how to play. I don't have a full fledged website. I'll do that after we get a little funding. So far so good. We've gotten $700 in about 7 hours of posting on boards and harassing friends. Apparently my offer of drawing people into the cards is a good one. I just started thinking about drawing websites from other companies into the cards as grafeeti on some of the location cards. Maybe I can get some other folks to pimp my game more happily. I'll check out the link. Thanks for the update.

The resources you need are rations, shelter, and gas. You need 1 ration and 1 shelter for every survivor you want to make it to the next round. Gas can help you save survivors, kill zombies, get rations, or get shelter. When fighting zombies one survivor can kill one zombie, you can also sacrifice a survivor to kill 2 zombies (they take one out with them as they die). I put up a link on conceptart.org and I'm spamming some friends of mine that have buddies or know high school kids that doodle this stuff anyway.

Maybe I'll make a wiki for it. That sounds like the only way to actually get a rule book PDF out there.
