View Full Version : My Next film - NOT DEADLANDS 3 - instead - All In The Game...

I have decided to shoot another film before I start Deadlands 3. This short format urban crime drama takes place in East Baltimore, MD which will also serve as the real shooting locations.

The cast is made up of local actors Kelvin Page, Nelson Irizarry and Daniel Ross, plus cast members of the HBO series The Wire

Chris Clanton (played Savino Seasons 1, 4, & 5)
Miciaih Jones (played Little Man (season 1 12 episodes)

We are also in talk with Trey Chaney who played Poot and a few other know and major characters from The Wire to appear in this flick.

Shooting begins March 12th 2011 at the Under The Bridge Lounge in East Baltimore, then moves on to Eastside Vacant home city block locations for further shoots.

Filming is expected to wrap in April 2011. The film running time should be 25 minutes.

The story as about an up & coming East Baltimore drug dealer who takes it upon himself to eliminate the competition at any cost... including, KIDNAP torture and many other maniacal means to dispatch his competition... however, his appetite for power and control turns out to be larger than his available resources and he ends up with a very rude awakening.

Expect a You Tube presentation of the finished product by late summer early fall 2011

Sounds cool, to be sure... But I was so looking forward to the third film... oh well, I can wait a bit longer, I suppose. Good luck with this one!

Sounds cool indeed.

While I'm not familiar with The Wire, it'll be interesting to see how this pans out. :)

You understand, tho', that folks are gonna bitch about how "This isn't a zombie film like we demand of our favorite Directors", and then they'll all turn on you when Deadlands 3 is released for not being the film that they would make.

Not namin' any names, you know.

So it's going to be a feature film, eh? I'd thought it was a short film.

Looking forward to seeing how this one shapes up over time. Also, nice camera work - what camera was being used and how did you get the out-of-focus background look?

That's just depth of field. You pick a lens with a short focal length, sit your subject some distance in front of the background, focus on your subject and - bam - out of focus background.

Used a PENTAX K-X to film that with an 18 - 200MM Lens, but what Kraken said is how it is done.

You can even use a zoom and zoom in and set your focus if you don't have and nice primes... Or on DV you can go with a dof adapter.

1st 2 days of shooting in the can... Had some image quality issues with Day 1 & 2 maybe due to ISO settings on all cameras, which I hope to correct with subsequent shoots, but I will have a teaser trailer online by weeks end I hope.

Here is a taste... A rough edit, NOT FINAL on Sound or Pacing of what we shot on Sunday night.

This clip is also severely truncated, because it contains a major plot point, and also had a scene in which The driver and a call girl were snorting coke, and she was giving the guy a blow job, which I of course couldn't put on FB.

The full scene runs 3:39 in the movie, but it is 1:22 here

Is it me, or did you extend the corridor shot? Noiiice. :)

The improved audio is good too, as I was having a hard time understanding Lucky's lines in the original version of this teaser. Anyway - it's looking good, Gazza, it's looking good. :cool:

Yes siree, I extended it. I felt it better to let all the music build up and crest just as we cut to the Med-CU of him just before he delievrs his line, and he delivers it without music riding over it.

Just got hit with some major DeJaVu on All In The Game... The bar where we were shooting a lot of the main stuff is going under... similar thing happened to us with the Hagerstown 10 cinemas during Deadlands 2. Thankfully we are almost done shooting at the bar and we should have it all done before they shut the doors on the 30th of April. Sucks for the owners, but the economy socked them really hard. I hope things turn around for them as they have been extremely helpful in making this project come to life.

I am about 4 days away from having the final cut of the movie in my hands.... All tweaks to the editing are done... sound is going to take a bit to work on since one of our actors got himself arrested and is not available to do ADR.

Happy to report ALL IN THE GAME is wrapped and now available on DVD and blu-Ray through eBay. Blu-Ray and HD DVD through www.wetnwildradio.com and the HD releases are limited to 100 copies.

I wouldn't say glowing, but they seemed to have liked it at least. Only 2 reviews have been done so far, and both were good, but I expect a bad one to come cropping up sooner or later.
