View Full Version : If you could cast anyone for a re-make of the original trilogy who would you pick?

So, I've been thinking about some good choices for casting for re-makes (none of the Dawn '04 stuff, but actual remakes including the artistic integrity of the original series -- as much as possible at least for a remake) of the original series and here are some casting calls I've personally made:

Night

Harry Cooper: Dennis Quaid or Rutger Hauer
Barbara: Winona Ryder
Johnny: Bill Paxton

Dawn

Frannie: Naomi Watts
Roger: Barry Pepper
Stephen: Kurt Russell
Givens: Danny DeVito
Wooley: Mel Gibson
Dr. Rausch: Kris Kristofferson

Day

Rhodes: Michael Ironside
Dr. Logan: Terry O'Quinn or John Lithgow
John: Morgan Freeman
McDermott: Simon Pegg

Who would you cast for roles if you had the choice?

I'm actually against the idea of further remakes. If I were forced to make one, I would go with relative unknowns.

I'm with bassman on this one. I'd rather see a remake of Big Tits... (note: still haven't seen the original)

Actually Aces, I think you're on to something (not the Bieb) with the idea of doing a contemporary version of "Night" in switching the race roles.

I think it would certainly be interesting to cast Harry Cooper as a black man and Ben as a white man. Now that would make for a fascinating change of dynamics in the contemporary world. It would be fascinating to see that.

LOL good chuckles here fellas...

OK I'd swap out some people quite dramatically - I'll start with Day:

Rhodes: Tom Hardy
Sarah: Charlize Theron
Dr Logan: Philip Seymour Hoffman
John: A real jamaican
Ted Fisher: Cillian Murphy (depending on how he looks next to Charlize)
Steele: Ving Rhames

----------

Dawn:
Roger: Jason Statham....ahh shit he'd look the part but the dude has no talent...erm...Sam Worthington....
Flyboy: Jeremy Renner
Peter: Ken fucking Foree, who else?
Franny: Charlize Theron

Night:
Barbara: Rose Byrne
Harry Cooper: Brendan Gleeson

John: A real jamaican

how do u know the man who played him didnt come from jamaican parents? its pretty easy to turn the accent on and off. my uncle is from belize and i can immitate his accent to the point where he's told me its dead on. BTW that accent is pretty broad, people from central america all the way over to jamaica sound a bit alike

get a room full of rastafari and you'll hear the different tones. idk where he got the accent from, but its perfect. its gonna be a bit stretched like u say,but just like the wrestler sheamus, they had to make the accent more stereotypical

I really don't have a problem with anyone's voice in the movie... but I'm young, I don't know...
