Had you watched either of these back in the day, if so which one did you prefer?
I enjoyed The Munsters way more. Fred Gwynne's character is like a landmark, a relic, a legendary iconic figure in afternoon television history. I think it's got a lot to do with his voice. Besides that the show as a whole was/is a hit, and the shit every time.

Damn...the Munsters were on more regular rotation during my childhood years and had a great--I mean GREAT--cast, but the Addams Family were cool, had a killer theme song and their home had better decor...

Munsters wins. One of my favorite shows of all time, too. I own both seasons and watch them regularly. Then also watch the marathons that come on every year around Halloween.

Is that Justin Bieber getting whacked? Thank you! I love it!
Looks like I should delete this poll thread. Did not search to see if it had been done before. It has. "It's all been done... A-Whoo-hoo-hoo! It's all been done..."

I like both, but I liked Munsters a little bit better. Grandpa Munster da bomb.
Anybody seen an old porn called The Maddams Family? I laughed harder at that than Edward Penis Hands. Crotch/Lurch getting laid and moaning in his deep voice the whole way through, and Ron Jeremy as Uncle Pester, oh man.
Cinematic history, twas....

Same here. Between the two shows Munsters was the best, but that's not to say the Addams Family was bad. And the two movies in the nineties were a couple of laugh riots. I still laugh when I catch them on tv. It would be nice to get them on blu ray special editions....
Never saw the third film with Nathan Lane as Gomez. Anyone got an opinion of that one?

Yup. And I was mistaken....it wasn't Nathan Lane as Gomez. It was Tim Curry. Daryl Hannah as Morticia. Released straight to video. It has three stars on IMDB.

Yeah it was basically a reboot after Raul Julia died shortly after Addams Family Values. And of course Christopher Lloyd, Angelica Huston, and Christina Ricci didnt need or want to stick around after Barr Sonenfeld moved on.
Speaking of Raul Julia.....if anyone is looking for a great laugh, he did a crap movie called Overdrawn At The Memory Bank that became a great episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000.

He was also M. Bison in the Street Fighter movie. It was his final role before he passed away.
I'm guessing that wasn't QUITE what he would have wanted his last movie to be.
The Addams Family movie with Tim Curry actually wasn't all that bad, although it failed to live up to the films featuring Julia, Houston, Lloyd, and Ricci (obviously). As strange as it sounds, it was Ricci's portrayal of Wednesday that was missed the most. I didn't realize just how important she was to the films until she wasn't there anymore. My favorite moment in the series was when they were in the waiting room at the beginning of Addams Family Values and Wednesday was talking to a random girl about where babies come from.
Little Girl: And then Mommy kissed Daddy, and the angel told the stork, and the stork flew down from heaven, and left a diamond under a leaf, in the cabbage patch, and the diamond turned into a baby!
Pugsley: Our parents are having a baby, too.
Wednesday: They had sex.
EDIT: Oh, right, the actual topic. Munsters had a better run on television, but Addams Family has a better overall franchise.

Hey...some people love Survival and Diary. It's a crazy world we live in. :p
I actually just discovered some new Munsters shirts at 80stees.com. Which is weird because it's not an eighties series. But anyway, there's one of Grandpa that says "100% original and sparkle free".

Nice.
As for the shows and stuff... Meh. Both are just... I don't know... I can't get into them. It's like... All these characters, under the same roof, with little correlation... I'm half-asleep, but... yeah. Probably also why I don't like Full House.

That's because 'Full House' was a shite sitcom with poorly sketched characters taken from various horror movie cliches.

And the anorexia/bulimia award goes to...? Seriously though, it's so sad. They used to be chubby little cuties. Now they could land a part in TWD and not even require any FX makeup.
Used to wanna bang one of them, the one on the left I think. You know they're legal now, 25 last time I checked. Yeah I made sure, via Wikipedia before I hit submit! Ha-ha-ha! You know you wanted some too. STOP IT!
Oh I forgot, what were we discussing? Ah yes, the poll. Looks like The Munsters are whooping some ass!
