That is one tall order to accomplish. It just looks like there is not enough space to house the fuel needed to land those pieces without any parachute assist (or even with it for that matter.)

That's what my first thought was! All that fuel to do a controlled descent? But I guess they know what they're upto!

this would be a be a big step forward and put SpaceX on the map to stay. spacex has already had a great deal of success with the test flight of the Dragon (a manned space capsule/craft). they are gearing up for a second flight of that with a potential docking with the international space station in the mix.

on another note: if you haven't yet, you should check out the info on the Dragon. it's already flown once and could be the answer to a lot of questions.
