I wouldnt even have known who that was if it didnt say, I guess all his royalties have been spent on pies! While Slash looks almost the same as he did 20 years ago...

Some people just naturally get bigger as they get older. Or maybe he's just been eating his sorrows because he's a has-been? :p

Drugs and liquor.

The other option would be to mummify like Keith Richards.

I'd say the latter, exercise & a decent diet is enough to keep in shape whatever the age! How the mighty fall!

Drugs and liquor.

Liquor I understand, but I'm often puzzled when people mention drugs as a way of gaining weight. Maybe pot because you eat alot, but that doesn't count as a drug, imo. What other drugs make you fatter? Everything I can think of just makes you LOSE weight, not gain it...

It was the weight thing I was getting at, we all age but piling on weight like that is the shocking part, I'm 30 in a few months time but in better shape than I've ever been due to good diet & plenty of exercise, I plan on keeping it that way till I'm far older than Axl is now...

Good on you for doing so, man. I will say, however, that as you get into your late 30s expect some serious slowdown in ye olde metabolism and staying slim, if you have a body type that runs counter to it, is very tricky (no pun intended).

I'll definitely try my best! I'm naturally slim anyway, in fact everyone in my family past and present has been slim into old age so the odds are stacked well for me on that front. My dads got a gut now, but thats definitely down to the fact he eats too much of the wrong stuff and doesnt do any exercise other than farm work (which is mostly sitting on a tractor these days). Whereas I walk miles most nights as well as been doing intensive weight training for years now and also play sports which I intend on doing till old age or injury stops me

oh lawd. what is it with the singers pilling on the chub and thinking dressing like a serial killer is a distraction. I bet if he just came out on stage in his old shirt jeans and bandana deal folks would just shrug and go 'well he got fat', but if hes dressed like a bad guy from fucking moonwalker? of course people are gonna cry 'sidechair!'

i'm not a doctor (not a medical one at least) and usually do not defend fat people in any way, shape, or form. nor do i buy into the idea that every fat person has some sort of an eating disorder. most are simply lazy trash without any sense of self-respect.

now back to axl - it looks like axl is retaining a shitload of water (as opposed to simply being fat)for some reason. he looks more like his tissues are filled to bursting with water than fat. that is not good and could be a sign that axl has something very serious going on with him medically. i've never been a fan of guns n' roses at all but i do know that axl took fitness pretty seriously, so his appearance is shocking.

here is a pic from just a year ago:

i'd bet axl's got some serious medical shit going on.

A local radio station played him singing "Welcome To The Jungle" at a recent concert in South America and he sounded brutal. We're the bugs and time is the windshield.

Are you sure we're talking about the same person? He hasn't looked "healthy" since he emerged a year or so prior to the release of Chinese Democracy..

I still say: donuts.

I saw a really good late night interview with Artie Lange and he talks about being the only person who has ever gained weight being addicted to crack.
