I'm bored at work....so forgive me if this has been done before:
Here's the scenario:
You are stranded in a major city overrun with zombies. You've made contact with other survivors - all HPOTD members like yourself (we are the mental and physical elite, after all)- and have discussed and decided on a rallying point: a centralized location within the city which has your basic amenities - food, clean water, and shelter from the elements. However, this locale is not zombie proof, nor is it a location immune to zombie attack and infestation.
You have time to grab 4 items, one from each of the following categories:
A piece of sporting equipment (keep in mind a "gun" and "ammo" are two separate things)
A kitchen utensil
An additional piece of apparel
Something from the garage you can carry on your person (no vehicles)
...What four items do you choose, and why? NO REPEATS!

You have time to grab 4 items, one from each of the following categories:
A piece of sporting equipment: Like from a sporting good store or must it be strictly athletic? Umm, track shoes since I don't know if I can get into the realm of fancier camping gear (GPS would be ideal).
A kitchen utensil: Decent quality knife, I suppose.
An additional piece of apparel Light leather jacket (really should be somewhat bite-proof if we're not in the movies :) )
Something from the garage you can carry on your person (no vehicles): I won't say chainsaw...DUCT TAPE!

1: Baseball bat - Sort of obvious reasoning here...smashing walkers
2: Decent knife - More for utility than defense
3: Heavy leather gloves - To protect my hands
4: Crowbar (prybar to you 'mercuns) - Secondary smashing weapon and also handy for gaining entry to locked buildings if I have to

I'm thinking anything sport related or from a hunting/hobby type store...

(we are the mental and physical elite, after all) ROFLMFAO!
Cricketer's box. VITAL protection.
That wooden tenderising mallet, whatever you call it.
Change of underwear.
Strimmer. (Damn, I need to plug it into the mains!), change to crowbar.

1. shuttlecock - you never know when there may be a badminton game
2. escargot fork - because the regular sized ones are too big to get the meat out of the shell
3. lafont nerd glasses with fake lenses - because some indie, hipster, or emo would trade away food and water in wrist slitting desperation for this "gee look at how smart i look" fashion accessory
4. a can of spackle - because chicks dig guys that can fix stuff

Sporting Equip: A Helmet - Keep brains where they belong
Kitchen Untensil: My Grandma's old rolling pin - Mind you, this is not your everyday run of the mill dough flatner. This rolling pin is 3 ft long and as thick as the business end of a baseball bat. Good for boppin anything on the head!
Clothing: A Carhart Jumpsuit - Material is UBER thick and has lots of pockets
Garage Tool: A Pick Axe - Good for all kinds of stuff
