I must admit this story passed me by at the time (a year ago)...

This is part of the reason why I never, ever want to get married.

If a woman is interested in spending time with crazy me (hey, stranger things have happened!) she'll have to settle for a relationship and let that be that - I don't believe in contemporary marriage (i.e. "state-sanctioned marriage").

I just don't understand how a court deems her worthy of X millions pounds TEN years after they split?

And then:-
a) For her to decide a million pounds offered to her in good will isn't enough, and that she instead wants more.
b) For the courts to declare the £2M she won in the settlement need not be put in a trust fund for their daughter and she can spend it all as she wants.

In short, what has she done to deserve millions of his winnings?
